AU to fire Malzahn

Or we hire Gus should he become available. He’d be one of the best available coaches, with no losing record over 9 seasons. Meanwhile. We’ve had losing records in 5 of those 9 seasons. It would be a substantial upgrade.
Definitely an upgrade, and he had been in the tougher division. I think we would easily win the games we should right off the bat and 1 of the big 3 or 4 depending who our alternating Western Opponent is. I would bet on 10-3 in year one even next year.

#1) I don't think Sankey let's anyone in the SEC hire Freeze. #2) Fulmer is not hiring Freeze even if Sankey allows it, and #3 Fulmer is NOT firing Pruit anytime soon.
If Fulmer is out of the equation, #2 and #3 are no longer issues. Don’t think the power brokers behind the scenes don’t realize that also.

Sounds like this is getting some steam. Trying get in on the Freeze sweepstakes. Negotiating a 10 year settlement to pay Gus his remaining 21 million.
21 Million to not work. Wow. Meanwhile, I am a contractor who doesn’t even get paid if I have to take a sick day.
Not to say I am not thankful to actually HAVE a job right now when so many don’t; but still.......

Ikr... It's insane how the world of athletics works. I can't imagine getting paid an insane amount of money because I underperformed at my job.

If Tom doesn't learn to cheat, smartly, he won't make it in the SEC. If you are good enough, players get paid at all levels of college football. Amounts may differ and methods of delivering the "payment". However, Bama is at a different level. They remind me of a pro-team.
Top Talent
You got to pay to sign them
You got to pay to keep them
If you want to win in the SEC you must have top talent.
Mommy and Daddy get cushy jobs, cash and other perks to change schools for top players in HIGH SCHOOL. To think most players in the SEC do not get paid is delusional.

Let Auburn pay him the fat cash and bring him in as OC/Co-head coach. He has massive impacts in the OC role. Arkansas went from 4-7 to 10-4 and he was named national OC of the year. They had a 1600 yard back, a 1200 yard back and a 1000 yard receiver on the same team while playing multiple QBs. He didn't get along with Nutt, so he took the Tulsa assistant HC/OC role and Tulsa led the nation in total offense the next season and finished at the time with the second highest scoring offense in the history of college football. He joined Chizk as Auburn OC and Auburn went from 110th in the nation in scoring to 17th in the nation in scoring. They went from 70th in rushing to 13th. Chris Todd set QB rating records for Auburn. The next year they got Newton and won the NC with a powerhouse offense.

If Freeze goes to Auburn, we’re screwed.

Naw, he will have them on probation prett;y quick since the SEC has already opened a branch office down there. With his tendencies and the guarantees from many posters on here that AU pays for players in every class, they are screwed.....

Get ready for Randy Sanders to be hired as UT's next head coach after Fulmer finally fires Pruitt after the 2023 season.

For all his shortcomings, not even Fulmer is that ignorant.

There was a guy in Tennessee media (don't remember who) who said that they should not fire Pruitt because this year the crop of coaching candidates is not good.

And I completely disagree with that. There are about 5 coaches out there off the top of my head who would be good hires.

Even if you struck out on Freeze, there are others.
We have a tendency to fixate on one great hire coach around here.. ..

I was born and bred in east Tennessee and own two degrees from UTK. I'll damn well root for Tennessee. That's why I don't want a low character any where near it.
you got one now. heard about those co-eds and the booze? if you haven't, you're intentionally ignoring it.

We might be able to get him some what cheap to because of that buy and we would get the recruits that we have been missing out on so I am in.

Didn't Malzahn beat Saban a couple of times? If we had a coach that did that we would name a street after him! I guess some schools put a priority on winning and being competitive.

Three times even, as recently as last year.

We don’t want another reject from the state of Alabama. All you that want to hire a saint for a head coach, good grief I don’t see any of them walking on water.

That's the thing with people like Petrino, Freeze, etc. They've acknowledged what they've done and made whatever amends they can. Everyone knows what to watch for and they know they're on thin ice. Probably less likely to have trouble with dudes like that than with some up and comer that you turn into an overnight millionaire.

I read somewhere once:

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

There are none righteous, no not one.

Your high and mighty condemnation of someone being of low character tell us all we need to know about your character.

Again, Fulmer does not decide who is the head coach. He is just a mouth piece and sacrificial target for ridicule from the peanut seat fans.
