The AD hires who big donors tell him to hire. The AD makes the hire
The AD hires who big donors tell him to hire.
The Chancellor, President, and Board of Trustees sign off on whoever brings in the most donor dollars.
Make a huge donation to the Endowment.
Fund a few Chairs.
Back a scholarship fund.
Hell, build a new building.
You too can have a seat at the table and more say over who the damn football coach is than the AD.
Josh Pate tweeted that Auburn wouldn’t fire Malzahn because of the buyout and no outstanding field of replacements. There was a guy in Tennessee media (don't remember who) who said that they should not fire Pruitt because this year the crop of coaching candidates is not good.
And I completely disagree with that. There are about 5 coaches out there off the top of my head who would be good hires.
Even if you struck out on Freeze, there are others.
Get ready for Randy Sanders to be hired as UT's next head coach after Fulmer finally fires Pruitt after the 2023 season.
I’ve ruminated on that interesting possibility a while. Considering their history, I am not sure Sanders would take it. But wait....didn’t Fulmer help him get that ETSU job? It’s possible Fulmer may still feel guilty about forcing Sanders to fall on his sword at UT to save his own job. But, at first glance, Sanders would be an underwhelming hire, it seems to me.
We’re screwed cause we’re always late to the party , any SEC team that hires a competent head coach buries us that much more , 12th recruiting class in the nation is 8th or 9th in the SEC and we don’t have the coaching to offset the talent gap
