Aubrey Phillips Leaves Florida State

I went and looked, nothing better to do...Auburn was involved, but this was what Rex posted in his thread.

Olive Branch, Miss., offensive lineman Aubrey Phillips (6-6, 322 5.1) appears to be down to Arkansas and Florida State for his college decision.

Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden was at Olive Branch high school for four hours on Thursday while Arkansas sent assistant coaches Mike Summers and Reggie Johnson to visit with Phillips in the afternoon.

Phillips will likely choose between the Razorbacks and Seminoles on signing day.

No big deal either way.

It was Auburn I remember for sure not Arkansas. I am positive. He almost committed to Auburn and then Bowden got in his ear.

It was Arkansas too.

Here is the latest inside source scoop:

ETA: My bad, you have to be a member. It says:

"from my stellar anonymous sources:

1. Tip has been released from his LOI at FSU
2. Looks like he is going to be a....RAZORBACK
3. that is, if Alabama doesn't sway him to come there
4. Supposedly, he has already been in contact with the Hog coaches

So, if Petrino can hold off Saban, Aubrey Phillips will indeed replace John Henderson (or whichever signee does not make it)

Source is about 70% sure he's a hog, if they will have him."

Probably Northwest MS CC

Agree. He will probably never be heard of again no matter where he ends up. He just doesnt have the work ethic or attitude to ever become a good player. He is exactly the type of lineman Fulmer's staff had become used to landing. Overweight, unathletic, soft, etc...

2 years there and then will end up at Memphis, (Ole Miss if he decides to get his act together), or a local D2 like Delta State (who have actually done well with kids like this who dont pan out in D1)

im not biased, just quoting an Arkansas recruiting insider. I quoted him as saying "between FSU and Arkansas" before he decommitted from Tennessee, and Vol fans gave me hell about it being a "blog" report. It might be blog, but it is truth.

Arkansas has insiders (other than Rex)? Do they transfer the info via mosquito?:)

Local rag (Arkansas Dem-gazette Jan 27th "The Recruiting Guy" column) reports that Phillips has narrowed his top two choices to the Arky pigs and FSU (this article quoted Paul Crump, Phillips' stepfather). Phillips will "visit Auburn this weekend before making his final decision". According to Crump, Auburn and the pigs are discussing possible move to D-line. UT, according to this article, is not in the mix. Has anyone heard anything different? Hopefully, this is just more Arky b***s**t!

:lolabove:

Note he will visit Auburn in that quote and he did and then eliminated Arky. LOL. And you are like laughing like you proved something. I am so glad my family moved to Knoxville a generation back. Blood is not the only thing that gets sucked out by the mosquitos in Arkansas.

some FSU guys are saying his leaving was legit because BB gave him his release

"The papers came yesterday. I got a full release from FSU," Phillips said.

Along with Auburn, Phillips said he's considering Alabama and Arkansas with a decision coming shortly.

"I should make my decision by tomorrow evening," Phillips said. "I'm just going to chill the rest of the day down here and talk to the coaches a little more and base my decision on that."

He's probably more overweight and out of shape than he was even last February. I'm glad he'll be picking at SEC school. If they want to waste a scholarship for 5 years on a guy like that...then good.
