If Kiffin was a lower bidder I would think he would fail to mention that part, since they would burn him at the stake for it.

All he has to do is say they declined and Auburn burns while kiffin becomes a saint.

Its almost so crazy it would work?

If espn is reporting is true Newton wanted $200,000 that is just crazy if true!! Why would anybody pay $200,000 for a frekin college player??? :no: Surely, this is just a rumor they are investigating!

I'd much rather see them win it than bama. This would pretty much leave the door wide open for them to repeat. Bama's had a title or bust mentality for two years now. I would have enjoyed watching their little brother break their hearts.

But nobody knew he was really this good going into the season. Most thought Auburn was 8 or 9 win team. It just don't sound true. I could believe $20,000, but $200,000 does not make any sense. $200,000 would just be to obvious, that's too much money to hid.

Any chance Bama is behind the rumor?

I agree. I'd love to see that. But this won't be over until well after the Title game. Investigations don't take place over night. Won't affect this season most likely.

If Barn's title dreams are crushed then that Alabama dreams come true! I am for anybody but Alabama, we can't afford for our biggest rival to get another title.

If this is true, and LK knew, it is the best gift he could have ever given UT. Auburn has proven time and again they are willing to spend money in all the wrong ways. Just like Bama, they'll find a way to blame someone else.

If Cam Newton has to be sidelined for any of these rumors, I hope it's after they play Georgia. I want Auburn to steamroll them. I can see Georgia getting lucky and get to play them without Newton. Then they would brag and go on about how they beat Auburn. I don't think I could stomach hearing their annoying obnoxious fans run around barking.
