It was on the ESPN special about the situation. They interviewed his coaches. No where was it implied that money changed Cam's mind. I just thought it was really weird that when they interviewed the "West Texan Whatevers" coaches that they all believed he was going to State "because of Coach Mullen" who he apparently loved. Again ESPN did not connect these dots or press the issue. But it just struck me.

Anyone else find it scary that had he gone to Miss. St there is a chance they would have been playing in the SEC championship for a chance at a spot in the NC? Looking at their 4 losses I can see how Cam could have changed each one of the outcomes. Not to mention one was Auburn, which would have definitely been a different result.

Oh. I had never heard this angle/theory. I just searched for it online and couldn;t find it. Must have been the wrong keywords..??????????

Correct! One team is a top 25 team, one is not. One team has the 2nd best freshman running back, the other does not. One team has 4 seniors on the off line, the other does not. Not hard to figure out where to go. What 5* player signs for an bad team just becasue the coach is a nice guy?

Most of the JUCO and prep programs have gentlemen's agreements with certain schools that they will do whatever they can to make sure that kids who go there stick with their original commitment. If word gets out that a certain JUCO/prep school is rouge and will try to flip kids who attend there then schools will not place kids with them. I know that CN was not committed to MSU when he went to JUCO but it is possible that the coaches there began to form some sort of trust circle with the MSU staff because they assumed that CN would sign with MSU. They probably just don't want anyone to think that they had anything to do with influencing his decision to go to AU.

To be honest, I don't know why people put so much stock in what high school/JUCO coaches apparently know.

Much like some guidance counselors, I think that some HS coaches actually know something about certain programs and whether or not a prospect will have a good chance of fitting in and excelling at a particular school.
