I'm sure that was right after the crowd expressed how cool they are by joining together to sing "lean on me" in honor of a criminal.
It took the NCAA 5 years to close the Reggie Bush case. Anyone who thinks the NCAA gets this resolved in the next 2 months is delusional.
So if the NCAA does rule him ineligible, how many days does the replacement team (LSU) need to make arrangements to go to Atlanta? My guess is LSU would need to know early in the week to practice, but may be willing to do it if they knew by Tuesday.
Or if the NCAA does it after the SECCG and Auburn wins out can and will the BCS reshuffle the bowls? That would seem to almost be impossible as the dominos of teams moving up a bowl game would affect nearly every bowl game. But the alternative would be to have the other team in the BCSNCG declared the winner and cancel the game. So it seems to me that the NCAA has to make a decision this year by next Tuesday if they are going to do it this year to avoid complete chaos.
As I read the story, I wonder if the MS attorney general is thinking that Cam's dad may have violated the MS sports agent laws acting as an agenct for his son. If so, he probably won't find a sympathetic jury in MS. Wonder if they'd let Mr. Newton watch Cam's NFL debut on the Parchman cellblock?Source: Booster meets state officials
Mississippi State booster Bill Bell was interviewed last Wednesday by the Mississippi secretary of state's office as part of the investigation into Kenny Rogers' involvement in the recruitment of Auburn star quarterback Cameron Newton, a source familiar with the matter said Monday.
Bell met with investigators for nearly two hours at Bell's attorneys office in Montgomery, Ala. The secretary of state's office had subpoenaed Bell.
According to the source, the agency is investigating whether Rogers violated state agent laws by acting as an intermediary between Bell and Newtons father, Cecil Newton Sr.

The NCAA is also investigating the Newton pay-for-play allegations and has interviewed Bell and Rogers about the matter.
