Austin Price gives promising update on Nico

These kids respect their parents and usually follow their advice.

Honestly, I would be excited to see what Gaston Moore would bring to the game if Nico is a no-go. He seemed to be taking more downfield shots than Nico was against MS State. And he might be a quicker read of defenses in Heupel's system than Nico due to the time he's been in the system.
Let us all hope your wishes don’t come true.

He’s over 18. I dont believe his parents have to say anything legally. Nico can make his own choice if doctors say Yes. Someone correct me if im wrong.
I'm almost 40 years old and if my mama says don't do something, i might do it, but it sure does put the fear of God in me if i do

At this point I'd roll with Gaston and develop a plan with him Nico is a liability at this point.
I don’t mean this to be ugly towards Gaston. But if we want any shot in this game, Nico has to play. Obviously they won’t/can’t play him if he isn’t healthy. But if he’s healthy there is 0 chance they just decide to roll with Gaston.

I think that Nico will play, but if he doesn’t, Gaston is capable of winning this game. If Gaston gets the nod I’d run a slower offense and work on 3.4 yards per play. March down the field and score on time consuming drives. Let the defense do the rest. We will see. Either way, I have faith in Heupel to come in with a good gameplan.

Why are people in here saying his parents need to sign off on this? Dude is an adult, if he wants there opinion, then great - all for that, but lets not act like his parents have a conservatorship over him.

In college, without explicit sign off, parents don't even have a right to see a students grades.

Deep balls aren’t his problem, it’s the precision passing and slants

I pray this isn't just smoke to mislead UGA....itll only help for about 1 or 2 series if Moore comes out, then theyll adjust. Assuming there's no risk of further injury, i hope Nico is a full go.......I want this win and I wanna shut those barking fans up as they wait for their 3rd tier bowl game announcement in December.
Agree! It’s time to turn the page and for TN to make its mark! I’m over all the BS from the talking heads: “Bama should go to playoffs over TN. A 11-1 Hoosier team should go over TN. TN offense isn’t explosive.”

Who cares! We’re winning! The offensive concept is different as we are a running team.

Go Vols!

Is anyone from the program officially said it was a concussion? There are two plays where he could have been hurt and both of them looked more like a torso injury. Lot of egg on some faces if it turns out something else.
Not a dr and not an insider. But it was head injury.

This is a game we are supposed to lose, even with Nico. No expectations of a win and need to force things with Nico. Gaston Moore knows Heupel's offense better than any other player on the team and he's physically good enough to give us a chance at winning this game. Our defense also gives us a chance in this and any other game.

We, Tennessee, will have to throw the ball often because they will stack their defense against the run. If you recall, when Gaston started the second half, deep passes were called often and that opened the run game and the had a pretty good offensive the second half. I am s Gaston is getting enough reps to improve he accuracy. We may be able to score 20 or more points and maybe the defense can add a score or two. I believe we can come away with a win Saturday night.

Amazing as it is, we are going to have to beat Florida, Alabama and Georgia to get into a 12 team playoff . I thought this was supposed to be easier?
lol. Yeah whomever thought that is crazy. And look at the absolute chaos it’s already creating. The expanded playoffs is an absolute clown show. It’s ridiculous. But hey that’s what people wanted.

I am very curious. What have you seen from Gaston that makes you think he can lead the offense to a win? The few decent throws he had against a horrible MSU? He has never started against a top tier SEC team on the road. I seriously don’t understand why some of you are just undervaluing Nico. Gaston is a backup for a reason.

Do you think UGA will respect Gaston’s ability to throw? No they won’t. They will stack the box and force him to they and beat them with his arm. That’s a recipe for disaster

Is being cleared to practice the same as cleared to play or is that different process?
Would think so. They, QBs, wear a red non-contact jersey in practice, and when I say non-contact, if you get blocked into them you're probably running, at least I did, lol. In games they're fair game. So yes, there's a difference.

GM can throw the best under throw(better than over throw) and get a PI damn near ever time. Grown man FB there!!!! I'm good with him being our #1

He can not play if the DRs say NO. If the Drs say OK, then his parents can say NO. If both say OK, he will play.
You forgot his agent. If his agent says no, then NO Nico. And, btw, I can't really complain about this. His long term health is the only serious concern here. And playing against a dangerous and talented Ga team is not the best environment to come back from Concussion Proto.

If he is cleared by medical. It’s ultimately up to Nico (and his parents).

That very true but I think they will advise him. This all depends on severity. From my experience, I've been concussed and asked for imaginary equipment I was never wearing when coming off the field and I've had dingers where it's like a foggy hangover, and I've also been knocked flat the F out, woke up looking at the sky with coaches and players around me. He's been practicing, which is a good sign.
