Avengers Infinity War: SPOILER Thread

For me, this movie was almost perfect. It checks all the boxes of what I'm looking for in a movie. I want a good/great story. I want good characters that all mesh and meld together. I want to be emotionally moved, whether it be laughter, fear/dread, or tears. Mostly, I want to feel interested in the movie from start to finish and entertained from start to finish. Infinity War did all of this for me. I've never read a comic book, so I don't know what happens in the comics, until I researched it afterwards, I didn't know what/who the post credit scene was hinting at, but I still knew that not all of the heroes are dead, at least not yet (because of future movies already in the can, contracts, etc.), or perhaps time can be ran back, i.e. like the time stone. But the ending of the movie was still shocking and sad, and then you get the "humanization" of Thanos. I can't wait to see how it plays out in Part 2.

That was Captain Marvel's logo on Fury's device/pager

I thought the tone was really good. It’s obviously gonna have the one liners and that’s fine but the last 15 minutes was extremely serious when it needed to be. Half the human race has been exterminated (allegedly) and when Captain sits down with this dreaded “oh no” and then the Spider-Man/Iron Man scene you can feel the raw emotion.

Kinda surprised this thread isn’t blowing up a little more already.

Listening to some podcast reviews noted something I didn’t really think about. Of all the deaths at the end, the core Avengers group of IM, Cap, Thor, Hulk, and BW all remained. So while this one was a culmination of all the movies and including the more recently introduced characters like Guardians, BP, SM and DrS, this really clears the board for one last hurrah of the core group to be center stage in A4.

Didn't think of that either, but it makes sense. I have a feeling at least one of those (Specifically Iron Man) dies in the next one. I could see Strange using the time stone to send Cap back to his own time, assuming that's possible and doesn't mess the timeline up too badly.

Captain America will trade his life for Bucky IMO. I think both Iron Man and Captain America die in the next movie.

I had prepared myself for Cap's death in this one, but that makes sense. I could even see Tony and Cap going out together.

Makes a little sense with them bringing Steve's flip phone back.

I think tony either kills thanos or has a very important role in his death . Dr Strange wouldn’t give up the stone for just anyone

If they go by the comics then Gamora's soul is the one trapped in the soul stone. Also Nebula will the one who kills Thanos and undoes everything he did with the Infinity Gaulent with the 5 stones.

I was prepared for this as well. I highly doubt he survives the next one.

I've wondered if they do this.

I think of all the people to kill Thanos, Nebula is the most likely. I feel like they've been setting it up for a while now.

I just can't wait till the second comes out to see what all happens.

Nebula should kill Thanos but she’s not a big enough character IMO for them to pull the trigger.

And we know Captain Marvel is going to play a huge role

Would be sweet though. Fake like Stark is going to be the one and then bam, she comes out of nowhere and kills him.

I still don’t believe Gamora is dead either. She’s in the soul stone IMO
