'24 AZ EDGE Elijah Rushing (Oregon commit)

Looked it up, his HS is 1.8 miles from U OF A. All of those folks at his signing could walk to games instead of 26 hours of drive time or plane rides. They were obviously important to him. Take a heap of NIL to cover those costs.
You’re not wrong. That said his brother was a walk on at Florida. I’m not sure the circumstances of their situations but it would seem they don’t mind their kid being across the country. That said this may be a different situation.

Conversations were still going a day before his commitment so maybe there’s still some hope here?

True except for winning.
You’re absolutely right but an 17-18yo kid can be sold on anything if they want to be. I think zona did a good job selling him on playing there but mostly you have to be delusional to believe they will prepare you for the next level like a program like Tennessee or even Oregon.

True........and I'm not wanting a sparing match about anything, but I respect a kids decision based on his heart.

Trey Smith (not local, but in state) did the same thing. And let's just say UT was not very competitive except for one season.

if ya'll think we have crazy twitter reactions, the best one's for Rushing are definitely coming out of Eugene, OR.

He won't end up at Arizona. They won 5 games last year and barely squeaked by north dakota state. Once the season starts, he will start having some serious post commit dissonance.
Let it go. He wants to play with his brother, just like Spillman wants to play with his brother.

Good player and SEEMS to be a good young man and would welcome him here. But big difference taking travel into consideration for the top edge guy vs a walk-on anything.

Idk. Maybe he plays early at Arizona… I imagine he doesn’t finish his career there

The family can walk to his games this year while he is establishing his NIL/portal value if he lives up to his ranking. Getting on the field creates a risk/reward scenario to play out. Everybody that needs to see him can wherever he goes. But no ink on paper for a while for this level of notoriety.
