'22 AZ WR Kyler Kasper (Oregon commit)

The reason it won’t happen was in your own post.
It kind of depends on the unique situation with that family though. It could be them who approaches UT with the idea.

This is going to happen at UT but especially place like UGA where there are numerous 4/5* players in each class who are lifelong homers. Players will let NIL pay for their school so that their team can sign talent that makes winning more likely.

There was a time when Jordan didn't push for a bigger salary with the Bulls. He calculated that if he left them more room to sign great talent around him that it would increase their chances of championships which in turn would increase his income from advertising.

There is ZERO chance of this happening. No kid with his talent is going to do that. That would be insulting to even hear that from a school.
Meh, I hear what your saying. I guess I think of it more like his family and brother are committed to building a championship team and maybe he is on board with that. It is possible his family are able to pay for school 1 school year until a scholarship opens. IT wouldn't be such a shock for people who are committed to championships. Every major sports league had players who take less to benefit the team. This is no different imo. Like you all as I calrified before you tried to gang bang me, don't believe this will happen but it could.

Honestly, the NCAA needs to go ahead and change the scholarship limit to match the roster. The programs with the strongest NIL support will very soon have 105 players with what would previously be considered scholarship level talent. Some may use the expansion rule to bring in players designated for RS late to hit the 125 limit.

Is that because you think he's better than Tate or that UT isn't in good position with him?

Personally I think Kasper is the best out of any that have been discussed here. He is very quick off the ball and aggressive both in plays on the ball and blocking. I would call Mizell #2. Only based on highlight videos of course. Tate is obviously a really good WR but those guys look better. To me, Rogers looks at least as good on video.
He's probably pretty far down the list like around 6-7 Tate, Kasper, Rogers, Seldon, The Ohio kid

It’s also possible that Elon Musk decides that he wants to give me $30 million dollars bc he would never miss it and maybe it would make him feel good about himself. Also, no offense, but I’m not here for the gang bang.

That's exactly why we would NOT want them to do that. It's to our benefit that everyone else gets 85 but we're going to have many more scholarship-caliber players than that thanks to our NIL program. This year's team will have Navy Shuler, Jackson Hannah, and Charlie Browder as the first examples of that.

This won’t happen, ever. Walk-ons aren’t treated the same as scholarship players. No kid is going to sign up to be a walk on. It’s a slap in the face to everything they’ve worked for.
There were about 5 in class of 22 that did it so there is no reason whatsoever to think that there will not be some in class 23

I think they will eventually lower the hard cap on the roster to about 100 and maybe even increase the scholarship limit to 100.

The lack of parity is about to become a really big issue in CFB. We may not care as much since UT seems to be on the top side of NIL. But I don't think we want to see a less competitive sport.

Preferred Walk-ons have added benefits of a guaranteed roster spot so they get access to the teams facilities immediately including the the team dining facility. a standard walk on doesn't have that benefit so they have to workout at the student gym and use whatever meal plan they have. That's why there's only so many Preferred walk-ons allowed.
Edit: I'll do some digging but I don't think there's anything preventing a preferred walk on from getting an academic scholarship instead of an athletic scholarship. So theoretically they would still pay zero. At the end of the day that's all that matters, get the education for free whether it's 3 years or 5.

Let me know when a top 200 player decides to be a preferred walkon over taking a scholarship elsewhere. That’s the day I’ll admit this is a realistic idea. Until then, don’t compare a kid being a preferred walkon vs UTC to a kid like Kyler Kasper. People tried to say the same thing about the Berry twins.

This.

People don't seem to get this. Even Jashon Robertson said he hated being a blueshirt. He had to convince folks he wasn't just a walkon. There is a lot of ego at play with these things. No high 3 star or better is going to accept being a walkon.

Hyatt can go to the best schools in the country on scholarship but y’all really think there’s a chance he’s gonna choose to be a PWO bc his family likes the Vols AND you think it’s gonna be *his* idea.

Lol no. Just no.

I'll take Kasper and Tate if it means missing Hyatt... don't give a ****. Just me though.

I disagree. I think we’re gonna see more parity
