Bad look for the playoff committee so far [updated]

Right. That's why all the talk about needing SEC to be the best conference is silly. If the committee doesn't reward it, then why do I care how tough the league is? The SEC could be trash next year and any team with 10 wins could get in. The committee has made it clear that they reward winning the most games. If course, they will change that next year, causing more confusion. They really made themselves look foolish by rewarding two teams who didn't beat anyone of significance. ANYONE.
The SEC will never be "trash"

Not sure it represents anything but the teams that are favored that also got home games are taking their opponents to the woodshed. Just hope that doesn’t signal what we can expect tonight.

How many consecutive top 10 road games have we lost? 20-something. Won’t stop believing we should have been at home. But hope we “weather” the road setting better than all these other teams have.

Two playoff games down and both have been horribly boring and uncompetitive. didn't expect Indiana or SMU to win but certainly thought they would be better than this. Hopefully from now on strength of schedule becomes a more outsized factor in selecting teams. Someone in the SEC could have put on a better show than this garbage.

Here's hoping that someone is Tennessee lol GB🍊!
Yes, yes I agree BUT, bear with me here -

It’s amazing to see SMU and Indiana make it, but Alabama didn’t. That to me is worth it.

Indiana, SMU, Clemson . . . None of the three are remotely competitive.

The size and play of SMU looked like a really good . . . FCS team . . . Playing a decent Big 10 team.

Indiana was simply not very good.

Clemson is on their way to getting boat raced by Texas. Clemson at least looks somewhat competitive.

Arizona State and Boise State getting byes after watching these games . . . Makes the whole bracket a joke . . .
Arizona State. That’s what we’ve come to as a country. Not only are they in, but get a bye for winning a conference that I’m not sure who the other teams are. UCLA maybe??

The problem is that the games haven’t been competitive.
Yes, but alot of that has to be becuase the road teams are overwhelmed playing on the road against a top opponent in a high pressure situation. All the road QBs have made early mistakes that shape the trajectory for the reat of the game.

The road teams have been dominated at the LOS.

But the lower teams are just not competitive and that won't change if it expands
But there are a half dozen teams that were better that got left out due to the criteria of the committee. The selection process was set up like an entitlement system not a merit system. And as with every entitlement system, the results are dubious at best.

I think SOS will come into effect pretty quickly.
Either that, or FCS teams are going to have their phones ringing off the hook from SEC and B1G teams offering guarantee games.

But what will happen is that we're just going to see more teams get in. Eventually I think it will reach a 24-team field. The bowls will die, and there might be a college football "NIT" for the teams that didn't make it. Some team like UNLV or Vandy would be celebrating "We're Number 25!" if that existed this year.
