Texas is showing what they have done in their losses, They have let Clemson isolate WRs on linebackers for wide open completions, have have failed blitzes fail to put pressure on the QB. However, they just wised up and scored on a 74 yard TD run. Clemson should have never been in this ballgame.Texas has messed around and allowed this to be a game
Clemson still has the talent to compete with anyone. However Boise and Arizona st are probably gonna get blown out.Strength Of Schedule is definitely starting to reveal itself... —Something that needs considerably more emphasis in future playoff seeding.
Call it “home-field advantage” or whatever…. But, even with a couple of late scores, It was pretty obvious that Indiana & SMU didn’t belong in the CFP.
— They fell behind early & often. And frankly, the games were both ugly & boring to watch.
I really expect to see the same thing from Clemson; ; Boise State; & even Arizona State, as well. - But you never know….
Oh well - At least they didn’t put Bama in there!
If Tennessee replaces Bama in the annual SEC standings, Sankey will love us and drop Bama like a bad habit. Bama will fall in post Saban life. It’s a fact.Sankey got what he wanted. Everything that’s happened as far as the SEC is on him. They set Texas up as well as they could. They wanted Texas and Georgia in. Really wanted Bama in as well but SMU wouldn’t do their part.
I don't see it ever getting to a 24 team field. 16 will be maxEither that, or FCS teams are going to have their phones ringing off the hook from SEC and B1G teams offering guarantee games.
But what will happen is that we're just going to see more teams get in. Eventually I think it will reach a 24-team field. The bowls will die, and there might be a college football "NIT" for the teams that didn't make it. Some team like UNLV or Vandy would be celebrating "We're Number 25!" if that existed this year.
I wasn't saying "could" as in "it's possible", I was using a hypothetical. (Such as " I could eat a whole pizza and still be hungry"." I stated in an earlier post the same thing you did, that the SEC will always be good, which is why I won't root for UGA or any of them in postseason. The league will always be good, no matter what they do postseason. This was in a different thread. The SEC will never be "trash"
I'm not sure when my allegiance to the SEC got the better of my hate for other SEC teams. Don't get me wrong, I detest Bama, but I actually pulled for them when they played ND and Clemson in the NC games. I hate ND, Ohio State and Clemson more now. Back in the early 1970s, I pulled for ND to beat Bama in that NC game.I wasn't saying "could" as in "it's possible", I was using a hypothetical. Two playoff games down and both have been horribly boring and uncompetitive. didn't expect Indiana or SMU to win but certainly thought they would be better than this. Hopefully from now on strength of schedule becomes a more outsized factor in selecting teams. Someone in the SEC could have put on a better show than this garbage.
Here's hoping that someone is Tennessee lol GB!
Yeah, I get it, but every time I go there I think about how they'd be more insufferable with another ring. Like last year in the NCAA tourney, I could root for Auburn or Bama, etc. I could manage to pull for others not Kentucky or those two, maybe. If they were playing that Purdue team I would have. I just will start to root for them in those situations and then think about hearing it and then having another one over us. I absolutely don't want UGA to win this year. I can't imagine rooting for them in any circumstance in this playoff.I'm not sure when my allegiance to the SEC got the better of my hate for other SEC teams. F them UK and Auburn in basketball. Basketball is entirely different for me. I love football, but love basketball even moreYeah, I get it, but every time I go there I think about how they'd be more insufferable with another ring. H He was not ready for the big stage. Saban called it in the pregame when he said he could see it when they interviewed the QB during warmups. Said PSU would win big and he was spot-on.
He gets the Jamison Winston award for most pick 6 in a game
Not really at all! Oregon 59, Florida State 20; UAT 38, Michigan State 0; Clemson 31, Ohio State 0; Clemson 30, Notre Dame 3; LSU 63, Oklahoma 28. Those were playoff semifinals with big name teams getting their asses kicked. Don't act like is the first time we've seen playoff blowouts. Just because a team gets blown out doesn't mean they are undeserving. If you throw 2 pick sixes in the first half on the road, in a playoff, you'll probably get blown out. This is simply SEC goober smooching talking points. There should not have been 5 SEC teams in. If Bama wanted in, maybe they should have tried not getting their **** pushed in by Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. Had they gotten in, they would have had 2 of the worst 3 losses in the field.
