You guys can rip this post all you want, but it's a lot closer to the truth than most of you think.

If true then we r bound to be avg under Dobbs..unless we get a huge run game going.

Qbs either have it or not and Dobbs proved he doesn't have it.. No way anyone can convince me he will go from missing every wide open rec to greatness n one or two years..

Just like everyone said worley would never be great same can be said with Dobbs..

Don't even being Peterman into the conversation.. Lol

Dobbs groupies slam away

This thread is why I love this site. People having some fun and some people getting mad at their fellow vol fans for not thinking the same way they do.

A student worker in football department mentioned that Coach Bajakian has been talking to people like It's Dobbs job to lose. They liked what Dobbs showed last year and are looking forward to see how much he hs improved. They also like his size and improved physique.

I don't know how coach B could like what he saw from Dobbs. We gotta cut him some slack because he was a freshman but he wasn't good. If he could have thrown it in the ocean against Vandy then we win that one. I'd give Fergy the edge simply because we didn't see him stink it up like the other three did.

Other than running for his life there wasn't much to like, he struggled to complete a forward pass. Unless, he improves drastically, UT is in for another long season with him as the starter.

Dang, with 4 really good QBs on staff it would seem like a toss up, I don't care if a starter isn't named until August. Isn't this why they "play the practices" ?

How can anyone possible think we've seen enough of Dobbs to know he's not the future?

First off, Dobbs really needed a redshirt year, so with Worley going down he really got thrown out there when he wasn't ready.

Second, our WR play was just as bad as the QB play. When your best go-to target is almost a freshman you've got a problem. North wasn't he a true reciever coming out of HS he was a RB/QB/WR do it all kinda guy, so he was learning the position as he went last year. Pig was our only other reliable target and he's strictly a slot guy.

Third, not only was it Dobbs first year in the system, but it was also everyone's first year in the system. So, I'm sure CBJ & Co. Couldn't dive right into schemeing and developing the playbook. I'm sure they had to establish how they wanted their team ran and how they wanted to practice before anything further development of the offense could happen.

So, to say Dobbs isn't the guy based off what we saw is just dumb. Bottom line is we didn't see enough of any of our QBs in this system to really know if they're the guy or not.

Who are the four really good QB's? I would be happy with just one good QB.
