Baltimore Unrest

Freddie Gray is responsible for his own choices that possibly led to 18 arrests. He had choices and chose his own path in the beginning.

Ah I get what you are saying but you know what...that's some BS. The police state preys on these people and of course they are doing drugs. What high school kids arent, some of you really just have no idea how biased this garbage is. You don't think you could have been busted for drinking that many times in high school if the cops were constantly finding reasons to pull you over and search your car?

If the police do not get deployed in the most effective way, people screech at incompetent planning.

If the police train for this scenario, people screech that they are preparing to take over.

You just don't understand. Plus, you ignore what started the riots in the first place.

You gotta be one of the high school kids although all of them aren't doing drugs.

His choice to be an addict doesn't mean he deserved to have his spine fractured and throat crushed because he ran. That being said rioting and destroying what little you have and attacking law enforcement solves nothing. We as black people protest and riot when a white officer kills a black male but we do nothing when we kill each other. What company is going to invest in WBaltimore after watching this. I wouldn't.

So not holding one accountable for their own choices and actions is the new method for relating to these kids? Do we need to pair up guidance counselors and police officers in the street so that prior to being arrested we can advise them of the results of poor choices?

Not only that but how many businesses will say to hell with this place and either move or take their insurance money and go home?

I think as a cop, you should absolutely have a background in social work.

Man I'm not defending this kid or his actions. I know that after my first arrest, my butt would have been in my parents own personal jail. The thing is, this kid obviously never had that.

I haven't brushed his death aside as collateral damage or acceptable behavior by LEO. Someone will talk and reveal the truth in that scenario and if they are responsible, then they will be accountable.

I've said it before. The change has to come from within the community, it's leaders and the parents of the at risk youth. Be a parent, not their buddy/friend.

What drives me nuts are the people who keep trying to defend people who are criminals. It's a fairly easy concept...if you don't commit crimes, you don't get arrested.

Yep, I don't really know how to even go about that either. It's such an ingrained aspect in certain ways and it seems almost impossible to help some of the poor communities.

True. It's unfortunate he didn't have that.
