Bama BB shooting event per police report

Wow! Just seeing this development. Many state's laws are different, but I can't believe they can't at least charge him with accessory to murder or felony murder since his actions did lead to the murder of this poor girl even though he didn't pull the trigger. Any other person not named Brandon Miller, would have been charged already.
You got that last part right. That’s the sad part here.

Pretty interesting to juxtapose the Alabama and New Mexico State shootings.

NMSU Chancellor fires the coach and suspends the entire basketball season after the team suppresses the murder weapon AFTER what appears to be an act of self-defense after a woman entrapped a basketball players with a CLEAR PROMISE of sex. Teammates come to the scene to REMOVE the weapon. New Mexico State cancels men's basketball season

Meanwhile, at Alabama, teammates arrive to FURNISH the weapon used to murder a woman who actively DECLINED the sexual advances of a basketball player. Coach takes no action, states furnisher was simply "in the wrong place at the wrong time", as if his presence was accidental. AD Byrne covers his eyes, saying "Our role in a criminal investigation is to support law enforcement, not to conduct our own investigation and not to interfere with their efforts," Byrne said. University President (Stuart Bell) supports this; Chancellor Finis St. John IV stays completely silent on the whole situation (Finis St. John IV. )

New Mexico 1, Alabama 0.

Symptomatic of our society in general. There is no such thing as equal justice under the law. You see it in politics, hollywood, sports, etc. We most certainly have a class system in every aspect of our culture. Unfortunately, when there is no accountability, no consequences, and inequality in the justice system, you have big problems.

As I understand it, the argument is that Miller didn't come to Miles to bring him a gun, but that Miles sent the incriminating text while Miller, unaware that there was a gun in his car, was already en route to pick Miles up from a nightclub per Miles's earlier and ostensibly innocent request. When Miller read (and understood) Miles's text is not mentioned in the lawyer's account.

I am guessing it would have been mentioned if it was advantageous to their story, since it wasn’t mentioned, well… you know.

Didn't NMSU cancel the season because of hazing and not the shooting?

The cover up over a 1 and done player is insane.

I was laughing at the use of Urban Dictionary 😂 I do that probably once a week… ‘What did he mean by this?’ ‘I do not know’ lol.. even I could kind of infer what he meant lol.. I’m sure his attorney told him to act oblivious

LOL I don't even try. The words and abbreviations used are so stupid anymore I just skip over. It's not easy trying to interpret what is being said

I just turned 41 so mission accomplished. What I hate even more is when idiots my age try to talk/text like these dumbasses.
I'll add lazy posting of abbreviations for names or nicknames some make up for players/things/situations. It's as if they just decided to speak in a language they made up on the fly expecting folks to just understand it.

I have learned to not use punctuation or write anything formally… it gives you away as an old fart 😂

Was Miller not in violation of University rules, he knew he had a gun in his car driving thru campus???

Campus Carry Information

The Founders Banned Weapons from Campuses

At the time of the establishment of our nation and its public institutions, the Founders and authors of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution recognized that weapons present particular concerns for college campuses. Even before it opened, The University of Virginia board—including its members Thomas Jefferson and James Madison—banned weapons from campus. The earliest conduct rules of The University of Alabama contained similar prohibitions.

That is a weak point in the narrative. Standridge also doesn't directly say that Miller didn't know about the presence of the gun, though he says that Miller neither saw it nor touched it and that it was hidden under clothing.

Miles is reported to have said "the heat is in the hat" and Davis "there's one in the head." I suppose Miller must be the source of that report, unless there was an unnamed passenger in the car with him. Is Miller cooperating with the police because he's innocent and not a party to what happened, or did the prosecution find it expedient not to prosecute him in order to secure his cooperation in prosecuting those more directly involved? The D.A. did say (under oath, I presume) that there was nothing to charge Miller with.

I expect more light will be shed on these questions as the trial proceeds. I can't imagine that Miller will be able to avoid the witness stand, given his proximity to the murder. I still think it's plausible (not necessarily probable) that it will be shown that Miller was more or less innocent in this affair, but your objections are entirely fair and will need to be answered.

I suppose I'd readily believe that the criminal justice system in Tuscaloosa might show undue favor to athletes who have committed lesser offenses, but, without clear evidence, I'm not ready to believe that a district attorney would decline to prosecute someone implicated in the murder of a young mother just because of his athletic prowess.

I’m getting what you are writing, but it is difficult to imagine getting a text from someone wanting a gun while in a confrontation, you delivering said gun, someone murdered with that gun, and you walk away free.

And I certainly respect your point of view. Perhaps I'm just grasping at straws in an attempt to understand the incomprehensible -- why no charges have been brought against Miller. I'm sure we'll learn much more about all of this over the next few weeks.

So slang, misspellings, abbreviations, nonsensical rants and no punctuation...the key to eternal youth. Gotcha.
Makes me want to beat someone to death with a dictionary if I’m being honest. You’re in college on a free scholarship, at least learn proper flipping grammar and spelling.

Believe me, I agree in most other situations, but c’mon, this is texting. It doesn’t have to make sense to you or me, because it’s not being sent to you or me.
