Same ol song and dance year in and year out. It's the SEC and it's expected. Officials just doing as they're instructed.....
Yes sir , just like what happened with the Jabar Gaffney catch I believe going off memory… in 2001 ? Ain’t no way that should’ve been called a catch !

Refs didn’t decide this one and I thought the DPI calls were even. Both teams could have had more called on them.

The intentional grounding/safety call is marginal to me. Beck was looking for the double move route to the right. He had to speed the throw way up because of the pressure and it was basically an arm punt. But he heaved it towards that WR, and the WR was getting jammed pretty far downfield.

It looks bad when the ball doesn’t land anywhere near the WR and I get the call. And I’m not a student of the rule book on grounding. But the QB didn’t spike the ball or throw it out of danger. He was at least trying to put it where his guy could make a play on it. If that’s grounding, it’s an atypical type of grounding. And I discuss it because it’s interesting, not because I’m pointing the finger.

More eloquently put than what I said. Definitely was not a game deciding call in the end and didn’t look like one at the time when you’re down 21. I just don’t agree with the call and the way it unfolded not having a flag dropped until DeBoer lost his mind.

It was not a legitimate intentional grounding. The WR was blatantly mugged to the sidelines and the ball was a go route the whole time; Beck never really looked anywhere else. If the WR was not knocked off his route it’s likely overthrown by a few yards not 15.
All of this is irrelevant to the call. Beck was in the tackle box and threw a pass that wasn’t in the vicinity of a receiver. “Overthrown by a few yards” still implies it wasn’t close to a receiver. Your hatred for Alabama prevents you from looking at it objectively.

For some reason some Vol fans have looked at the Bama/UGA game and have concluded we are just superior to both. For the life of me Insojt know what they are seeing. I mean they act like these teams are just some lowly bottom feeders.
I stated they are both beatable, does not mean we are superior. @GA will be a challenge. AL will come ready to play. Regardless, stay in the top 8 we will be fine for the playoffs.

Yep, we still haven't beaten anyone to gauge this team, but I can say Bama dline will give our o line fits and our WRs haven't been very good at getting open, even against bad teams. IDC what was said, I think this is why Heupel played so conservative against Oklahoma. He didn't want to expose our weak passing game.

I dunno what game some of you were watching, but most of the game, Bamas secondary was swatting and tipping, what seemed like every pass. We still don't have a clue what our secondary is truly capable of as we haven't faced an offense with a pulse.

Ga will be a tough game for us, Bama wil be a tough game for us, Ky will be a tough game for us and yes, UF will probably be a tough game for us.
I watched. Bama’s secondary was torched in the second half. They didn’t cover anybody until the DB picked off that last pass. If they play like that, we’ll be fine.

I wouldn't say lucky. I do think we're fighting an up hill battle though. Nico has been good at times but I'm not sure he's ready to win a big time game like either of these yet. Everything rides on Campbell and Heard being healthy and effective. And I'm still not sure our defense can stop Bama. Every offense we've played so far has been garbage. Bama will be a tough test to see just how good the DL is as well as our new secondary.
IF you stop the QB scrambles then Al. can be a winnable game if turnovers are equal. One of our Lbs needs to light him up early on one of those scrambles to make him think about it.

I don't think you can stop Milroe all game. He's gonna get his plays, and they're offense is gonna put up some points. I think the key to victory rests on our offense. Nico doesn't have to throw for 400 yards but he's need to be effective. He needs to be able to run some but he's gotta make some plays in the passing game too. Going to be interesting to see how we game plan them, if we throw more early and often to set up the run instead of running to set up the pass.

We really haven’t thrown a party on any secondary this year. But we are going to against Bama and UGAs? Ones that have 4 and 5*s?
We haven't thrown it around because we haven't had to. You're talking about recruiting ranks which is irrelevant because all 3 schools have them. If we keep it real, do u think UGA and Bama are going to let us line up and run it down their throat?? Heck no. We better throw or party or we ain't winning either game. IDC how many stars are on the backend they didn't look like stars last night. I think our ability to put them in space with no help is our key to victory.

I could not believe that the referees called a safety after DeBoer badgered them into it. If they didn’t call it because they saw it, they not have called on his say so.
They called a safety after conferring with each other…I don’t think the Bama sideline screaming caused them to call it. The sidelines scream for a call on just about every play.

Anybody Know if Wee Little Nicky got to keep his corner office at the SEC HQ when he retired?

Murder tonight. DB's have mauled Georgia.

Bama always rides the receivers and gets away with it mostly, but Hopefully, Tennessee gets the calls in Knoxville. Saban taught bama DB's how to hold and Kirby learned at bama. Both are the worst holding teams I've seen. They figure they won't get called enough for it, and they are right. Both have no scruples or integrity, really.

U can doubt it if you want, that's your opinion. Just like its my opinion that UGA or Bama don't have very good secondaries. They both looked like trash on the backend and the tape says that not me.
It's all good. Bama and Georgia can make a lot of secondaries look not so good. We will see how we look against them, maybe we will do ok

The receiver wasn’t in the area because he was manhandled out of bounds. He threw to where he thought the WR was going to be. By your definition any miscommunication with a pass rush would be an intentional grounding if no one is in the vicinity.

Maybe our defense made these offenses look like garbage. They are #1 in the nation after all and have an argument as the best defensive front in the league. Good grief give credit where credit is due

never said our defense was bad. But we've now seen the teams we've boatraced play several games and none of them are any good on offense. Credit given, however, for taking care of business and making those garbage offenses look like what they are. The true test will come in 3 weeks.

So our defense or special teams have zero to do with the game. Gotcha 🙄🙄

You’re better than that.

Defense has shown up every game and proven they are trust worthy. O has come and gone at times. Defense isn’t a worry of mine.

Nico could play absolutely out of his mind and we still could lose. To beat Bama and UGA we will need to play A+ on both sides of the ball. Defense has been elite so far but has it faced anything that’s even close to Bama and UGA? You know the answer is no. I think the bigger key to victory lies with Sampson and the run game. Nico is gonna be important no doubt. And he is gonna have to play significantly better than he has. But our defense is gonna have to be lights out if we expect to win.

See i think it's the other way around. Nico has to have a pretty solid game for us to win. OU planned to stop Sampson and slow down the run game and make Nico beat them. They did a pretty good job of that holding us to 25. They're offense was just so garbage it didn't matter and we didn't have to force the issue on offense. You can bet your bottom dollar UGA and Bama will look to do the same on defense. Slow Sampson down and make Nico win the game. Both UGA And Bammer will be much better on offense than OU, plenty good to beat us with a similar gameplan to OU. We will have to get in to the upper 30s to have a chance.
