I agree in that I think they absolutely would include all power 5 conference winners, but that could also lead to some issues as well lol.

what if an 8-4 northwester knocked off tOSU? what if that happened in 2 conferences and ND was in because they were undefeated. an undefeated UCF (or similar) could still potentially not make it in

Why would you guarantee a power 5? If Pitt wins they should be in? Nonsense.

At least then you have the argument, win your games and don't put it in the committees hands. At far as the non power 5 the best gets a guaranteed spot.

Or maybe not guaranteed fully, more like if you are in the top 10, you don't want a 9-3 memphis team in.

I get that. But an undefeated UCF would say that we did win our games, and we could be a 7-5 pitt or 8-4 northwestern who didn't win all of their games (though in this scenario, they did win their conference)

can't make everybody happy

(and btw, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. just wondering out loud about potential scenarios with an 8 team playoff)
