YesDoes one really need one of these:

When you can get 11 of these and tape them back to back if you absolute have to have 50 shots to run through your semi-auto:

And have one left after you run 250 rounds down range. That last 25 rounds could make the difference.
Below 18.5 inches (I think) is considered a short barrel shotgun or SBS and requires special permits and paperwork. Is there a certain length that it has to be?
Someday, I want to get some quality wooden foregrips. I read a lot of stuff online where people trash the quality of the modern wood hardware. Not sure how much of that is objective and how much of it is purism coming from people who think anything that's not eastern bloc is garbage. I also plan to someday replace my magpul Zhukov folding stock with a classic metal triangle folder.I would love to have a wooden AK
I think it's 18", but most manufacturers stop at 18.5" in case the ATF agent's measuring device is off. I do wonder if you could count the length of that muzzle device, if it's permanently affixed.Below 18.5 inches (I think) is considered a short barrel shotgun or SBS and requires special permits and paperwork.

FYI, everything I own, which is .45's and AR's (and a S&W .38 for Upper Management) is intended for one purpose and one purpose only: to defend me and mine. I don't hunt anymore (was never really good at it, but I can if I have to); fish are relatively immune to incoming fire; and unless you hit a hog / bear in his ear with a .223/5.56, all you are going to do is get mauled by a really pissed-off hog/bear...so I'm left with "defend me and mine."
So if it's HD work, holler at me. Here's the short answer: 62 TBBC. .223 or 5.56. Best barrier-blind round out there, bar none. There are other good choices, but that's the best.
.45 ACP? 230 HST. FYI, 230 FMJ for hogs/bears. In that instance, you need penetration over expansion. But for bi-pedal thin-skinned targets, 230 HST is where it's at. Again, there are other good choices, but in this case I've seen what that round does in OIS's...and it's a fight-stopper. So that's what I carry.
No charge for the info.

Totally off topic, but aren't you down towards *********? I've been watching a fishing show, and this guy has been in that area a few times catching redfish like crazy. I'm sincerely thinking about going for a charter some time.FYI, everything I own, which is .45's and AR's (and a S&W .38 for Upper Management) is intended for one purpose and one purpose only: to defend me and mine.
