Bang Shootie conversation

I have no clue, maybe they get startled. We had one jump in the back of our boat and chit everywhere before we could get it out. They will jump in front of the boat too and knock the chit out of you if they hit you.
What kind of fish is it?

You're looking at roughly $400-$500 for a 4 to 6 hour trip for 2 people. If memory serves, each additional person is ~$100.

Look up Free Spooling Charters (Wendell Harper), and Flatwater Outfitters (Mike Evans). Read the reviews. Both are top-notch charter captains.

Happy Hunting.
Sounds like it could be a good trip. We need A zone fish trip slice. Get some people together and go. @Orangeslice13

Can he put me on a shark our 600lb Grouper?

Shark fishing is not all that. Catching sharks is like playing the "pull my finger" trick on your 6 year-old nephew. You can catch sharks all day long around here. But they're not that good to eat IMO, and if you ever make the mistake of cleaning one inside your boat, garage, or house...you'll never make it again.

As for the grouper, ask the pros. I used to enjoy it, but to me conventional fishing is the most inefficient way I know to get food. The Israelis (IDF) have a much more enjoyable and efficient method. Mind you, it involves the use of concussion or fragmentation grenades, but still...who wouldn't enjoy that? Unfortunately, most state game management agencies...and of course the feds...frown upon that sort of thing.

Just pay Wendell or Mike, and enjoy the trip.

Got you. It would be cool to catch the big one but to get a bunch of good eating fish would be awesome. I have never been deep sea fishing and I want to take my son for sure.

Deep sea is different. These guys are inshore and near-shore. Small boats (20-24').

There are deep sea charters out of Savannah and Mayport, to name a couple nearby. All day affairs. Bigger boats (55+), and they take like 20-40 people out to the shelf (50-70 miles out) for the big fish. No idea what they charge, but you could find it easy enough online. Most folks get seasick, or drunk, or both...and end up not catching a dang thing.

I have a friend with a 26' cat, and he goes out 80-100 miles, stays overnight (open deck), and fills his fish boxes. He keeps me in fresh fish. I love him to death, but he's crazier than a sprayed roach. No way I'd go with him.

I forget what it was, but he caught something a month or so back that ended up breaking a $600 rod. So...big fish. I'd rather stand at the seafood counter at Publix and pick what I want to eat. Nothing they have costs $600, plus fuel, plus tackle, plus bait, plus a 200k fishing boat. Plus lowering yourself on the food chain by going that far in that size boat.

Economics 101. It's better to have a friend with a boat than your own boat.

A buddy of mine used to run a Bertram to the Gulf Stream out of Wilmington Is./Savannah. He was into those high dollar, buy-in tournaments. I'll reach out to him and see if he has a recommendation.

I've been out a couple of times, and don't get sick. Me and my buddy that's went with me call them "casualties"😂. We kinda wait on the ones, and there's always a few, who get sick, and give up more room for fishing. I also agree with the economic boat thing. I don't have one, but the majority of my friends do. I just pay gas/buy lunch.

Inshore, I'd rather go when the sea trout are in the rivers and creeks.

Offshore, in addition to King mackerel tournaments, I've gone out to fish the weed lines and caught mackerel, young grouper, mahi mahi, cobia, sailfish, and always some barracuda... Nothing is more frustrating than bringing a big King to the boat, only to see it bit in half by a 6' cuda. Charters were out of St. Marys, GA or Fernandina Beach, FL.

Here's a good example of "been there, done that".

Guns people!!!
This thread is about guns.
Y’all can talk about how bad at fishing Joedawg33 is in one of his other “I suck at fishing” threads.

For example, I bought a magazine expansion tube today for my police magnum 870. It now holds 8+1.
Right?! Idk who derailed this thread!😁

Tombstone tactical f'd me over on the Magpull Mags for the AR10. I guess they didn't like me reviewing their website as a POS.

I just got my Panzer BP 12 shotgun. This thing is a blast to shoot. It came with two 5 round mags. I ordered a 10 round mag and a 20 round drum. I also added a green dot laser with a built-in flashlight. I have run about 100 rounds through it. Works flawlessly and the recoil is not bad at all. I can't imagine a better home defense shotgun. The thing is 30" long with a 20" barrel. It is a meat grinder.
