Bang Shootie conversation

A WW2 1911 (colt) starts around 2000$ And goes up from there.

I once had an Ithica WWII 1911 with spare barrel and spring, US Cavalry holster, 7 mags with some still wrapped in oiled banana leaves. I was young, dumb, and got swayed into trading it. I was offered anything in a section of pistols I wanted, plus holser and 3 boxes ammo. And this was in the early 90's. It was sentimental and I've lived with that deal for a long time. I was aware enough to have chosen the 92FS.

I’m not a fan of the 2$ per round of the 303 Brit

a m1 carbine 30 cal would be super cool IMO. My ex-FIL used to clip the wings/back of turkeys at 60 yds with one standing on his 3 wheeler.

Of all of these the M1 Carbine is the most likely to be still very useful. The ammo is easy and cheap, It's a pretty fantastic home defense weapon if you have a bit of land around your home, and even a younger person or lady can easily deal with weight and recoil, It's not too hard to get parts for compared to some of these. You will never regret getting a decent m1 carbine. Just these are shot like hell by everyone so check that bore. Or better yet get a refurbished one if you can find one. Fulton armory refurbs these, and they will refurb one you send them too. If there is one thing I always regret is getting these when they were cheap. You used to see them everywhere for 2-300. (not refurb)

6.52x55 Carcano ammo will be a PAIN to find...if they are selling it with a bunch of ammo maybe.....it's a cool old gun, but this seems like more of a wallhanger then a shooter. While it's a cool unique battlerifle to own, I can think of many other's i'd prefer for a shooter.

It's come down a bit recently, 1.50 a round at SGammo, and that's about the same as 30-06, 6.5 swedish...and most of the other 30 caliber battlefield rifle rounds.

That's why I suggest he get something converted to 308/ 7.62 nato, or and Mosin/sks in 7.62 russian or 39 etc

I’m a huge fan of the SKS and AK platforms. That’s probably why I have so many of them

cookeville

Go to armslist and put in tennessee and cookville for location. Make sure you click on Private party on the listing buttons, and make turn off want to buy and trade.

I see a gorgeous sportorized Enfield with scope on there, but I wasn't logged in so it might be pricey.

Also there a vz 52, which if it's in 7.62 x 39 (52/57) Will be cheap as hell to shoot. They also have a norinco sks on there I would not hesitate on for the right price.

The 52 is a badass but they’re asking for both arms and a leg for it. There’s a really nice Bruno (vz24) on there too

I like them too but do not own one, mainly cause I've always had a friend with one I could shoot...lol I need to follow my own advice and pick one up.
I really do want a good 7.62x39 rifle....but I kinda want something newer...this is currently on my to find for a good price list...
The PTR in 7.62x39, the po man's H&K they shoot fantastic. I am told you can find them still 8-900 but I haven't seen one recently 1300 is as cheap as I have found.
32 KFR PTR 200 – PTR

Gonna be honest half the reason I want is just to do a HK slap everytime i load er up. I have heard nothing but good things on these PTR clones in terms of finish and accuracy.

also one a friend just bought and is really happy with is the CZ Bren 2 pistol in 7.62x39.... really checks a lot of boxes...

Isn't there a pretty good gun store up in cookville area? I don't go up there much but there's a place I have heard of that seems like their version of North Ga gun traders... never been though
