If anyone beats the Braves, it will be Philadelphia.I'm bias, therefore I think the Braves will be NL East Champs. New York has their big guns but their pitching is stank. Smoltz gets 20 wins, Hudson finds his niche, Hampton is comeback player of the year, Chuck James pitches like a young Glavine.
Andruw drops head, Chipper stay healthy, Francour learns how to take a pitch, McCann does it like McCann. The younger guys get nasty.
I can only hope.
Half the payroll? Last I checked it was about a tenth of it. (And yes I'm being literal.)I dont care for baseball unless I see the Marlins beat the hell out of the Yankees with about half the payroll. That was a sweet World Series. I respect the Yankees history but not the fact they try to purchase all there wins, like the Cowboys.
The AL Central will be closer than the AL East. There will be three teams in contention going into the final week.I'm a huge red birds fan. I love'em and go see them very often. No one was happier than I when we pulled it out.
Here are my picks.
NLE- Philly
NLC- Cards
NLW-Padres/Dodgers (I know hedging a little here)
ALE- Yankees followed close by Blue Jays
ALC- Motor city kitties
ALW- A's
The two divisions that will be the closest will be ALE and NLW

I wouldn't get overconfident, Beef. The World Series seems to have made people forget the Cards barely cleared .500 last year. The NL Central is really bad. The fact my team, the Reds, was in contention into the final week last year speaks volumes about how bad the division is.Milwaukee wins the Central?
Only if it's sausage racing.
