Does that change the fact that they barely cleared .500? Also, where are the two guys who pitched them through the postseason residing? Oh, that's right, not St. Louis.
I agree. Everyone in the Central falls between mediocre and flat bad. It will be competitive.Yeah I'm a Cards fan and I know exactly what you are saying. Just got hot at the right time and Weaver had a great postseason, kind of out of the blue. The Cubs, Reds, Cards, Brewers and the Astros all have a legitimate shot. Really, disagree if you want to I don't care but realistically look there is no dominating team this year (especially with Pettite and Clemens not coming back). It's wide open
Yeah, the NL Central is great. They should redistribute the teams throughout the NL to balance out the talent. All of those sub .500 teams are just dying to play in the NL East.
Absolutely. However, using a .500 team having a great run in October as evidence that a division is any good is a bit of a stretch.
That is true. It still doesn't make the NL Central a good divison. It simply means if the Cardinals are healthy and get production from the new guys in their rotation, the division will have 1 good team instead of none.Remind me again how the NLE did in the post season when it matters most? And let's not forget that we had some major injuries that hurt us in the reg season. When the team was relatively healthy we were a tough team to beat.
It says the Cardinals played better for a week and a half in October than the Mets did. What does it say about the NL Central that a team as awful as the Reds was still in contention on the final Friday of the season?I really don't care about the division. I'm a Birds fan. I hate the Cubs and have strong dislike for the rest.
And as far as the East being so good and the Central being so bad, what does it say when it matters most the Central team kicked the crap outa the East's best.

I didn't realize winning Game Seven by one run constitutes "kicking the crap" out of the other team.I really don't care about the division. I'm a Birds fan. I hate the Cubs and have strong dislike for the rest.
