Baseball Fans...

that's true. but i think the dodgers drastically improved their pitching by getting schmidt and wolfe. If Lowe can stay healthy, wow. i also think gonzalez will be consistent enough to help the offense. I'm not positive but all i know the giants did was keep ray durham and bonds, and then picked up zito and one of the sixty thousand molinas. i don't see any of that as drastic improvement. Add the Bonds saga to the mix and I see the Giants sinking into McCovey Cove
They also added Rich Aurillia, who will help them.

i forgot about aurillia. he's decent, although i still don't see him taking them to the next level. I would've went somewhere else. While aurillia is an upgrade from sweeney and klesko, i don't think it's a significant upgrade and I would've improved offensively somewhere else in the lineup. What are the plans now for klesko and sweeney? trade bait in july?

I can't imagine that either of those guys have any real trade value.

wow. you're right. klesko went from making 9 mil last year to a mere 1.75 this year. ouch. i don't care if he still is a millionaire, that's quite a pay cut. aurilla is at 4 mil a year for two years, and sweeney should just be around the 1m mark. he was at around 850k last year. i just immediately assumed klesko didn't take that much of a cut in pay. i don't blame the padres now.

Hopefully Duncan can work miracles with Kip Wells and hopefully Adam Wainwright makes a smooth transition to the rotation, otherwise the Cardinals will have another mediocre regular season. Also be nice to see Mulder come back and contribute when he's ready.

NLE - Mets
NLC - Cardinals
NLW - Dodgers
NLWC - Phillies

ALE - Yankees
ALC - Twins
ALW - Angels
ALWC - Blue Jays

I'd love to see Toronto knock off the Yankees and Red Sox, but I don't think they have enough pitching.
Kip Wells = disaster

Adam Wainwright has had a good first season in the rotation.

Mets and Phillies still in contention. Yankees and Angels are in. It was the Blue Jays' offense that didn't produce rather than their pitching.

AL West-Anaheim
AL Central-Cleveland
AL East-New York
Wildcard-Detroit

NL West-San Francisco
NL Central-St. Louis
NL East-Atlanta
Wildcard-Philadelphia

NL Champ-Philadelphia
World Champion-Cleveland
Not my best work, but I can live with it. I have no earthly idea why I thought the Giants would be good.

NLE- Phillies
NLC- Cardinals
NLW- Dodgers
Wild Card- Mets

ALE- Red Sox
ALC- Tigers
ALW- A's
Wild Card- Angels

World Series Phillies-Angels, Phillies take the crown

As much as I'd like to put my A's in the world series, I just don't think we have the offensive power.

far from my best work, but eh well. no clue why i had faith in my a's.
