I have had Beef on ignore for months. He is now off. And he is ALMOST 100% right here. This is not so much Hart. This is Cheek and the Provost, Martin. If you are looking for someone to blame, start there. Otherwise, get behind Butch and support him - until he gives you a reason not to.

I support Coach Jones. Shup up and thank him for wanting to be our football coach. He sounds tickled to death to be able to say I am the football coach at the University of Tennessee. Got to love him. If I had any advice to give, I would tell him to get rid of the softies on this team. They are losers on the football field. If their soft at 18 they are still soft at say 22. They have to be taught to play this SEC game. Football is a mans game. You are not ready just out of high school. Johnny Football down at A&M is a redshirt. I am outta here and I will finally say that the naysayers of Coach Jones should just move on down to gator country and do the chomp if it makes you happy. By the way, take a couple of dipheads with you, Climer and Adams. Pitiful people they are. We need more athletic supporters and less jock straps. Go Big Orange

Who should we have gotten that would have made you feel better? And don't say Gruden. Fantasy land is over. I would have liked mora. Some wouldn't. He didn't want to touch us. Gundy? Was never coming. Played it to a tee. Not better than Jones either. Strong? Who knows. He didn't want it, so he doesn't count as could have done better. Who was your choice?

And all you seem to do is follow him around the forum and ***** and moan about his posts, if you don't like what he has to say then do us all a favor and enjoy yourself a big glass of shut the hell up and just put him on ignore instead of hijacking the thread.

I am not against coach Jones in any way shape or form and I hope he is the most successful coach we've ever had. But NONE of you currently bashing our fan base was calling for him to be the coach. If you had an ounce of honesty you would admit it. So the fact that a bunch of our fans are a little underwhelmed should be no surprise to anyone and if you had half the brains God gave a blade of grass you should have expected it.
I tip my hat to my fellow Vol fans. Hopefully we will win enough to bring us all together.

Up to the parents to make sure who their children follow and that area I am a success. I have no bone with fan frustrations but there comes a time after the hiring process to get with the program even if only for the players/teams' sake.

I'm neutral on the hire right now. Butch is a big gamble hire. I hope he's successful but he has a lot of question marks. We'll see how he does.

Fools such as yourself are already polishing his boots and are now acting as if Butch is a great hire. The truth is we don't know yet.
Now how about doing us all a favor and taking that nap on some railroad tracks.

I'm still trying to find the issue with my first post, which led to op fan bashing in his own anti fanbashing thread, so I will try again.
Of course people were underwhelmed. Many form their opinion based on what they read on here, and much info on this site is misinformation. Therefore, many base their opinion on bad info, which makes them uneducated opinions. Hell, many thought Gruden was coming, and it was a big letdown. That bs was the cause of a lot of people being underwhelmed. Well guess what. Some of the smarter ones started educating themselves a little and are now excited, rather than underwhelmed. Me included. I guess that makes me a boot polisher.
Most fans don't know anything about the coaching tree and there are a lot of good coaches out there that aren't first on our list. That doesn't mean they will suck. He has as much of a chance to succeed as fisher, gundy, strong, Patterson, bielema, etc would here and wants to be here, so concern about him not being our first pick seems silly in the big picture.
I don't know why we should care which pick of ours he was as long as he wins, and nobody knows if he will or not.

I hope this not considered bashing.but i'm tired of hearing a phrase that is inaccurate. "everyone just wanted gruden" this is not true! Many people questioned grudens ability to coach college ball. I for one would take CBJ over gruden anyday. He HAS proven he can win in ncaa football. But I agree with the op,too many people have been called idiots or morons for their choice for coach. Or for their support for CBJ at the begining. It's time all vols fans came together in support of our coaches and players. GBO!!!!

As in any Coaching search, some fans are happy, some are not. The media make it evident they do NOT know Tennessee Football. Our fans are loud, opinionated, knowledgeable. This search was a fiasco from the start. Hart and Cheeks made a laughing stock out of our entire program and need to be gotten rid of and a Tennessee man hired as AD, not some carpetbagger. I was not for Coach Jones, but he did want the job. I have liked what I have heard from him, read about him since he accepted the job. I know our fan base will get behind him 100% and support Coach Jones and his team as we do all of our teams. God Bless Coach Jones, and welcome to BIG ORANGE COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

Big difference between being underwhelmed and some of the stuff on twitter and on here. SVP was pretty fair with his assessment of some of the behavior. I wasn't thrilled about the hire nor am I happy about the way it was done. Can't say I'm a fan of the administration as a whole. Acting like an ass is your right. Just don't be mad when people say dude you're bein an ass.

Chris Low said that Georgia had the same problem with administrators in the 90's. It wasn't resolved until the boosters directly intervened.

I wish him nothing but Perfection. He came from the cradle where a lot of coaches step from

With that being said, I am not the only Booster who is looking at this donation form and season ticket order that is due in 95 days thinking ....Am I willing with all of this to do it again ?

I KNOW of at least 25 Booster Families like me that live out of Knoxville thinking the same thing
I just think it's going to take us some time
And for every idiot calling us Not true VOL fans ...If all of you were Boosters then you might have a case but if you haven't made this donation year end and year out......SHUT UP

after I got past the unrealistic hires, I wanted coach jones above anyone else.....Sure I wanted Gruden....Cowher and whoever else but I liked Butch Jones better than Strong...Fisher....Pelini.....or most of the rest.

Every coaching hire has question marks but Jones is a great up and coming young coach and I feel he will do great things here at Tennessee.

If you don't want to make a donation, don't make a donation.....but when fans come on here spewing hate...talking about switching teams, or cursing the coach via twitter.....They need to have a backbone and expect to get talked back too.
