Bashing UT fans

I am not behind the new coach and I am not against him
I wish him nothing but Perfection. He came from the cradle where a lot of coaches step from

With that being said, I am not the only Booster who is looking at this donation form and season ticket order that is due in 95 days thinking ....Am I willing with all of this to do it again ?

I KNOW of at least 25 Booster Families like me that live out of Knoxville thinking the same thing
I just think it's going to take us some time
And for every idiot calling us Not true VOL fans ...If all of you were Boosters then you might have a case but if you haven't made this donation year end and year out......SHUT UP

I'm with you. And after 25 years plus 30 years of my father supporting before that, it really hurts.

I hung tough through CDD because I thought that with Hamilton finally gone we would see a turnaround. But it seems that the problems run much deeper.

The only way I see to effect a change is to keep Neyland and the VF coffers empty.

I would bet that the Athletic and Scholarship departments would not be as glib as to ask it's boosters not to give all in the name of keeping an internet board behaving

Fans will do what they do.....MOST of them have only watched UT on TV and talk on message boards they might have gone to a game 2 or 3 times

These are not the people that the AD worries about

If you don't want to make a donation, don't make a donation.....but when fans come on here spewing hate...talking about switching teams, or cursing the coach via twitter.....They need to have a backbone and expect to get talked back too.

Well here I sit in my 300,000 dollar home on the banks of the TN river...I am in a serious situation. I have to make a life changing desicion now about my season tickets. Oh..(hang on) "House servant" .."Yes lord"...could you bring me a fine cuban and a glass of red wine, this decision is painstaking"..."Yes my lord"....ok, back to my thoughts...as I sit on my daddy's trust fund, I wonder if he would be upset if I (super booster) should donate to a winning coach..I know he is not Jon Gruden, and my Daddy told me, I should get what I want..well CBJ does not look like a man with money, Dooley did..so I paid, Kiffen did so I paid...but this cat, looks like a blue collar guy...one second "House servant"..."yes my lord".."could you bring me an ash tray, I must of left it in the master suite, thank you"..."yes your greatness"...so as you can see...big money here, can judge people based on nothing at all....so before I make this awful desicion, I will have to consult with my other trust fund babies and see what they think...good day...so called vol fans, w/o booster money.

Funny and Interesting FACT

The Boosters that are alums and make less than 80K a year and give the minimum donation to keep their seats 62% . Another interesting FACT of that 62% a full 12% are now living on Social Security

So ..Before you go slamming the boosters , Do some research on the annual giving and that increase as well as the increase in Season tickets and then do the math on percentage of take home income
Also look into the FACT that the AD is responsible for hundreds of scholarship and the Band etc etc

There are alot of people who make this donation where it's not easy but we do it in my case because the AD paid my way through college

Why is everyone on Beef in this thread? He was right about Dooley. He has not bashed Jones. Butch is a bit of a risk but definitely better than the last roll of the dice.

All I know is that I cannot take another season like this last one. In the last three years DD and some other folks at UT have taken one of my favorite fall pastimes and flat-out ruined it to the point that there is no enjoyment.

My children, my family, and myself are constantly disparaged and barraged by Bammers reiterating the train wreck in Knoxville compared to the triumph in t-town. I am a alum, season ticket holder, and booster at the end of his rope and I sincerely hope Jones can help us recover from this debacle.

Teaching humbleness, humility, and how to lose to my kids is getting very old.

.

If the root cause of the problem is in fact Haslam/Cheek/Hart then it is very unlikely that any football coach can effect a recovery.

My problem is with how snotty these booster are...and to think that others out here who work, and work our way through college as well(maybe not ut) but other schools who support ut in a variety of ways have a secondary opinion that is uselss and we should listen to "boosters"...here is a fact for ya, 100% of the boosters are not the coach..so let the coach, coach the team...if the boosters dont like it, they can pull for VT

For me, this is as close to religion as anything will get to it until I have a family (and you better believe my kids with be dressed in orange and white from the day they are born). I make no apologies and never will.

This is more than just football. It is my favorite memories, my pride, and my home. I grew up where every Saturday I would throw on my orange and get in the Suburban covered and car flags to drive to the marina. Out boat would push off early in the AM, and I will tell you this, there is nothing like turning the bend in the river near Sequoya at night and seeing Neyland lit up from miles away.

I remember throwing ice into the Florida band's tubas during the 2004 game. I remember the first time I had a drink was October 26th, 2006. My first case of food poisoning (or something like it) was after eating boar in the skybox during and Arkansas game.

Growing up in Knoxville is special. An entire town's mood can be predicted because of what happens during those Saturdays in the fall. It is intoxicating when we are up, and downright heart wrenching when we are down.

I could go on and on. But at the end of the day, Tennessee has been and always will be my first love.

So for anyone who doesn't get it, I pity them.

I was born March 1951. My dad started taking me to UT games that year. We supported the Vols through thick, thin . My dad died March 3 years ago. We had seats in section S. I was told I could keep his seats if I gave a certain donation. I could not afford this donation as I am retired and on a fixed income. I still bleed orange and watch the games on TV, Pay per view when they are not network televised. Was not for Coach Jones hire but I will support him and the UT Athletic program 100% with my hearteven if I can't with my money. Go Vols! I don't like our current or past AD, but I can thank them as I was able to go to the Kentucky game and see it for $9 per ticket.

These are the stories that don't get shared and they should be
Season ticket holders don't just buy their seats which is the common misinterpretation
The amount goes up every year

I would like your email address ...

It's always been that way. I remember going to Memphis state games at the old coliseum in the 70's. By the time I was a teen, my dad's 2 seats were towards the top. Soon, he was pushed out of the building. Too old to walk that high and not enough money to stay down low.
