His show tonight is a complete cluster. Cant get guests on. It’s not rocket science.

Alittle sarcasm on my part. He wasn’t on the show but the logistics were terrible. Jerome Maymin was the guest but every time they’d go to him for comment, it wouldn’t work. There was an hour of this.

I like TB & like his shows but he shouldn’t be critical of coaches with 3 secs to make a decision with his show running like that. It was a cluster tonight.

Basilio is a Knoxville legend. He has earned his spot. Its always good to have a local homer tooting the horn. Let him be.
And he’s done more for people in this community than anyone knows. He’s a goI’d man, whose career is about sensational. He’s also a showman and he’s tell you that. The hate for him I see on here amazes me.

It’s probably not the easiest thing in the world to get high quality guest on a random Sunday night early in the basketball season. But I think he’s good at what he does. Name another person that’s brought more content to our fan base for as long as him.
All true

He doesn’t do anything for people in this community without patting himself on the back repeatedly.

His constant sh!t stirring earns the hate. How many days has it been since Barnes has received a commitment from a 4-star recruit?

Well, he’s done something for me and my family, and community he’s never said a word about.
I’m not getting the reference about 4 star recruits, but I don’t listen much to sports radio these days (the last 10 years). I’m not following on that one. Did he say something about recruiting? The biggest/dumbest thing I remember him saying about Barnes was that he was here to collect a check until he wanted to retire. I don’t like that, but as you said, it’s about stirring it up. He was clearly wrong. All of these guys are wrong a lot. The most consistent thing about people on this board is that they seem to hate everyone on TV and radio.

Love Tony. But, he is a hype man, so sometimes he has to stir the sh!t. Great guy, who has carved out a niche and made a little money, doing it his way. Gotta love that, imo
Yes, that’s what it is and that’s why so many people listen anytime he goes on. That’s why he does 6 hour shows after football games(which I can’t listen to because it’s exhausting as is most sports talk to me). I get annoyed when I listen, but I realize what it is and I know what he does for the community. He talks about it because he solicits help with some of it. Not sure that’s “patting himself on the back”. He does try to credit the “radio family” for how they respond. He gives the people what they want. The guy does what it takes to keep going, and it’s worked 30 years. It amuses me how people that hate him seem to always know what he’s saying, which means they listen. I’d also say that people need to be careful about what they say/post about guys that are very open and transparent about their depression/mental health struggles. You never know what people are dealing with in general, but in some cases, people let us know, so we need to keep that in mind. I need to do better about that myself. Tony is someone that he been open with his struggles in that regard. That has helped me in many ways.

He actually has a goofy sense of humor but many don’t seem to get it.

OP misleading thread title, hope you feel better bashing for no reason. I guess you don’t realize most the staff work remotely all the time? Glitches happen all the time.

Did you listen to poor Bob Kesling post game too? He really struggled getting through the box score.

The head man is an idiot..... Sadly he is self-employed,
He has people on his show, two regulars specifically, Beeno and Dr. Sinclair who can intelligently discuss sports. As for B himself, he is there for entertainment purposes and sponsorship. If you know anything about radio, you have to tip your hat to someone who has made it on his own, been on the air as long as he has, and continues to attract bigger and better sponsors. That is as hard as it gets in any profession. That being said, he along with all the other sports talk shows in and around Knoxville, don't know crap about sports when you get right down to it. Unbelieveable any of those clowns actually make a living talking sports lol.

There’s more sports radio in Knoxville than in most major markets. Don’t know how all these guys find enough audience to stay afloat.

About a year and a half or so into Barnes’s tenure he started counting every day that went by without him getting a 4 star recruit. Yves Pons was his first. That was right at the same time he started the crap about Barnes using us as a golden parachute, so I don’t know how you missed it.
