Hey guys, how's it going? In case you don't know, we are almost 11 days away from UT basketball! So I just wanted to give fans who have any questions about the team a place where they can questions that some of us who follow the team closely can hopefully answer your questions.

So, go for it!

has there been any new word about Austin Nichols? I think he was suppose to visit Auburn (?) this weekend, any word on that visit and if he is any closer to a decision?

He took his visit to Auburn. He'll announce in a couple weeks and sign early.

I would ask a Shannon Hale question but now that you're a mod I'm kind of intimidated by your greatness, ZJC. haha

Too many tipped hats in a row. The wind is picking up in this thread.

With the Maymon injury, what sort of rotation are we looking at with the post play until he gets back.

Seems like Miller isn't ready to play from knee surgery either, so that would mean Chevious will get minuts at the 4.

So Stokes and Hall will start.

Stokes will probably get 30 minutes. Hall will get 25 minutes. I think Makanjoula gets 15. Chevious gets 10.

I guess that created a follow up if you would be so kind. What sort of timetable is Miller looking at on the return?

Btw I am just grateful to see non-Grudooley forums for awhile. Thanks for setting this one up.

Not sure. Not much has been talked about his knee.

No problem. I just want some news already.

Thanks. Never thought it would be possible I would be looking forward to basketball like this in October. I'm normally so engrossed in football, I don't even pay attention until after the final regular season football game.

And I just want info on the other. There is so much bad info to filter through right now, I don't even want to get on here. (I guess my post count may show that)

I like basketball better than football anyways, so I'm more interested in UT basketball anyways.

How about this? You think there is anyway we can convince Stoke to finish out his degree. That lineup with the incoming recruits and Stokes would be SICK.

The best thing for UT and Stokes would be Stokes has a very good year, wants to stay one more year to improve his game (his outside most particularly) and comes to play with Nichols and Hubbs. He then goes pro after his junior year and becomes a lottery pick.

That's the best thing.

I wonder if that would be the best thing for Stokes as well. The way he played last year was great, but I wouldn't call it guaranteed lottery pick style play.

With any sort of perimeter shot he could be a dangerous player in the league but as is, he is a 6th man type in the league because he doesn't have the size to be a dominating inside guy.

Plus, it would be great for UT to have that sort of lineup. It seems in college basketball of you can create a couple teams like that through recruiting, you can sustains for years through being able to recruit with the promise of the NBA.

I haven't follow UT basketball since I graduated a couple years go. I am planning on following this season now that I am back in the country. Are there people in this forum that actually know what the hell they are talking about? Possibly a contrast to the dumpster fire that is the FF.

Jarnell is about 6'9/270 right now and apparently has really improved his athleticism. He's got a lot of talent. He can be Jared Sullinger, which is good.

The 2013-2014 (with Jarnell) has the chance to be the best team in UT's history.

We have some good posters here. BTO and calban handle the recruiting and do great. UTCVol doesn't post much, but he's good too. Sparty does a good job on the X's and O's. I'm by no means an expert, but I like to talk about the games and rosters. Chris and Shaun are the posivols and brings the funny. Other good posters too.

It's also much friendlier. It's smaller, it's not as big as UT football. It can get hostile after loss but usually dies down.

And he is being modest. As far as basketball goes, I normally look for you and BTO first.

If the athleticism is improved, that is great. At times last year he did look like he was trying to go back to high school playing against less talented guys where he could just rumble and stumble to the net.

An extra bit of athleticism may be just what he needs for the next step in his development. Don't get me wrong, I am excited for this year, but next year could be something that is Finals worth with Stokes Hubbs and Nichols.
