Basketball mailbag...kinda

Well, for starters, we aren't doing any wholesale changes philosophy-wise (changing from 4-3 to 3-4). We have had zero staff turnover. We have had minimal player turnover (Tatum being the only significant loss). Most importantly though, we have a head coach who has proven he can beat teams that have more talent. When his team fails, he takes responsibility. He has the respect of his players.

Plainly put, this basketball team is a lot more believable than the football team. Martin has proven something, and Dooley hasn't.
Good points.
In honesty, I'm starting to get those butterflies that I felt before my first marriage.
I guess what I need to see is a thrashing of NC St on the 18th instead of another Maui.
Don't want to see a grind it out bubble team.
I want all the hype to be true.

I will say this; I'm not expecting a win vs NCSU. That is one loss I expect, mostly because the odds are against us, especially with Maymon possibly out. I wouldn't let an early season loss to them spoil your excitement. It is worth mentioning that any prolonged absence of Maymon will negatively affect our record. Fans shouldn't be discouraged by early season losses to good teams if he is out.

I guess it was more the let down after Maui last season that left the bad taste.
Our OC games Post PR are tougher than last season post Maui though.
Don't mind me. Been traumatized by the football fiasco.

The Maui experience was an early season aberration. It gave many false hope because the players hadn't bought into Martin's ways completely. It's this reason why we saw losses to teams like AP after being competitive with teams like Memphis and Duke. I think this team is all-in with CCM and his ways, so I expect much different results barring injuries, especially vs teams we should beat handily.

Feel ya on the football front.
