Edit: then got boat raced by West Virginia.

Yep, that kinda sucked losing at #10 WVU but a win on Saturday at 13-3 KState should get things headed in the right direction again. KState should be 14-2 but got robbed on the final play by the refs at Kansas. Replay showed three steps by the Kansas player and slow motion showed four steps.

San Jose Mercury News 4* OT Jalen Mckenzie Surprise Top 3

Jalen McKenzie, one of the top offensive line recruits in the Bay Area and the son of Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, said Tuesday that he has narrowed his list of suitors to a final three of USC, Maryland and Baylor.

McKenzie, a 6-5, 280-pound offensive tackle from Clayton Valley Charter, plans on taking a trip to USC this weekend. He’s also set to take at least one more trip but did not specify what school.

The talented McKenzie has offers from nine Power 5 schools including six in the Pac-12, according to Rivals.com. Rated a four-star recruit by Scout.com, McKenzie said he also has been talking to Alabama. He doesn’t intend to make a decision until letter of intent day Feb. 1.

Asked about Maryland and Baylor making his top three, McKenzie said Baylor is “trending upward” and that he would like to be part of a class that helps rebuild a program.

These guys have been doing the work, even in the dead period.

Make no doubt, Briles turned Baylor into a nation brand school, these guys coming up now only know BU as a winner.

Rhule might just be the one coach out there that can keep the brand from having a real down cycle. Didn't think it possible until the past couple of weeks, but with what they have done during a dead period, I don't doubt these coach at any level.

Rjsneed quote

""I'm trying to get my teammate Amaud Willis-Dalton there, plus Trestan (Ebner) from Henderson and K.D. (Nixon) from DeSoto," Sneed said. "I'm not sure how involved the coaches are with Amaud, but I know he had an offer from the previous staff. I should be able to speak with those guys once I'm on campus and they come for their official visits.""

Heyyy, I'm Christians older brother...here's all the info on him from high school to this point so yall dont have to do the research lol. Hope this helps...

Hes played all 3 line positions and was competing for the starting right tackle job at UCF but injured big toe and was ruled out for season. At this point he just wants to be close to home. He will only have 1 year of eligibility left but is hoping to get a medical redshirt for this past season and then hopefully apply for a 6th year waiver. He played at Midway and was a 3star recruit by 247sports and ESPN and had 8 D1 offers coming out that consisted of Purdue, SMU, North Texas, Lousiana-Monroe, New Mexico State, Arkansas State, Nevada, and Toledo. Was only unanimous 1st team all district lineman amd honorable mention all state. Signed with Arkansas State and redshirted freshman year. He then transferred to Trinity Valley where he started every game and was a 3star recruit by Scout and 247sports with a hand full of offers as well. Started season at 275 and is now 305. Lived in the weight room while injuted. That was the only knock on him by power5 schools that if he ever was capable to getting to 300 coming out of high scool and juco. All schools that offered in highschool and juco thought he was most over looked lineman in each class. Hes extremely athletic and strong, so should be a huge addition for the 2018 season considering the lack of linemen after this season. Was also ranked # 12 juco guard in country as the youngest in that group as a redshirt freshman that included bj autry in that group. His dad was also an all conference lineman at smu during the pony express days and was first guard drafted in the 1983 usfl draft.

Take a look for yalls self, now just add 30 pounds to him now .

Also something on Matt Rhule. I did football stunts for the movie My All-American with a guy that played at temple for 5 years under Rhule and couldnt say any better things about a person and coach. Sorry this was so long, I figured anything to get excited for the future of Baylor football would help. Hopefully it all works out how it should.

Christian's dad was an undersized OG that blocked for former Baylor All American RB Alfred Anderson (Minnesota Vikings) at Waco Richfield HS before moving on to block for Eric Dickerson and cjk5h (allegedly) at SMU. Joe Beard was All SWC and made several All American teams.

2017 Baylor Bears Football Schedule & Analysis

Breaking down and analyzing the 2017 Baylor Bears football schedule

Contact @PeteFiutak

2017 Baylor Bears Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

Matt Rhule uses the annual Baylor non-conference light scrimmages to tune things up for the road game at Duke, starting out 3-0 after rolling Liberty and UTSA, too. The Bears make a massive statement with a home win over Oklahoma in the Big 12 opener, and gets by Kansas State to start out a red-hot 5-0 – becoming a national story – before getting a week off. Even in a rebuilding mode, with four home games in five weeks, BU goes on a late run with the date at TCU being for a spot in the Big 12 Championship. 10-2 is possible with a hot early Big 12 start.

2017 Baylor Bears Football Schedule
Realistic Worst Case Scenario

Things aren’t ready yet. Baylor loses at Duke, gets rolled by Oklahoma at home and Kansas State on the road, and it’s an ugly start that ruins any real Big 12 title hopes before they can get off the ground. They don’t take advantage of the amazing run of second half home games, losing to West Virginia and Texas, and they biff the regular season finale at TCU to go a mediocre 6-6. They won’t have a losing season if everything goes wrong, but six wins would be a disappointment with this favorable slate.

2017 Baylor Bears Football Schedule

Sept. 2: Liberty

Sept. 9: UTSA

Sept. 16: at Duke

Sept. 23: Oklahoma

Sept. 30: at Kansas State

Oct. 7: OPEN DATE

Oct. 14: at Oklahoma State

Oct. 21: West Virginia

Oct. 28: Texas

Nov. 4: at Kansas

Nov. 11: Texas Tech

Nov. 18: Iowa State

Nov. 25: at TCU

Any word on staff?

The staff is in place, Rhule brought most of his guys, except for naming the QB Coach. The QB coach is expected to be one of the HS hires:

Shawn Bell- Round Rock Stoney Point HC
(5th on Baylor's career passing list).

David Wetzel- San Antonio Reagan HC (Wetzel has been coaching at San Antonio Reagan since 2004. Current Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight and one of A&M's 2017 quarterback commits, Kellen Mond, played at Reagan under Wetzel. Mond transferred to Florida's IMG Academy for his senior year.)

Joey McGuire-Cedar Hill HC (3 6A State Championships in the past 7 years).

Co-OC Matt Lubick-former Oregon CO will call plays.

(Even in a down year for Oregon, the Ducks still ranked No. 16 in total offense and No. 18 in yards per play in Lubick’s first season as OC even with four new starters on the OL and a true freshman quarterback.

At ASU, Lubick practically signed an entire recruiting class by himself as the team’s recruiting coordinator.

Lubick will be re-uniting with a former colleague from his Ole Miss days, George DeLeone, Baylor’s new O-line coach.)

Co-OC Jeff Nixon

NFL head coaches under whom Jeff Nixon has served:

Andy Reid, Philadelphia Eagles (2007-2010)
Tony Sparano, Miami Dolphins (2011)
Joe Philbin, Miami Dolphins (2012-2015)
Chip Kelly, San Francisco 49ers (2016–present)

DC is Phil Snow-Temple.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Snow

Temple

Temple's head coach, Matt Rhule served as an assistant underneath Snow during his time at UCLA.[3] After allowing 29.8 points per game in Snow's inaugural season, Temple's defense limited opponents to just 17.5 points per game in 2014, which was the 4th best mark in Division 1.[4] For his efforts, Snow was nominated for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's best coordinator.[5]

During the 2015 season, Snow's defense was, once again, one of the best in the nation. Temple limited opponents to just 20.1 points per game, the 17th best mark in Division 1, en route to a 10-4 season that saw the Owls defeat Penn State for the first time in 74 years and become nationally ranked for the first time since 1979.[6] The Owls also ranked 20th in Total Defense.[7] Following the regular season, Snow was once again nominated for the Broyles Award.[8]
