Missouri's most important game we play this year. I believe if we win that, we are bowl bound.

I would be ok with 6-6 as long as our losses are not incredibly lopsided or filled with poor effort, complete mental lapses, or players acting like it doesn't matter. Don't think that will happen under CBJ though.

This.

I'm not going to prognosticate until after the Utah State game. Just an entirely different team from last year's so I don't know what to expect.

Barring catastrophic injuries, UT should have a talent advantage over both Vandy and Mizzou AND beat both. And I still think that Jones finds a 7th win.

2 wins (Utah State and Arkansas). I think Chattanooga edges us out in a thriller: 8-6 (all points scored on safeties).

5 to 8 wins (including bowl game if eligible) depending on if we can get a few bounces our way.

Todd Furhman in Vegas set the number at 4.5 and recommended taking the under. Perhaps that's the safer bet given our youth, inexperience and the fact that we looked like a well coached team exactly twice last year.

Yeah, given how we played last season, I don't blame folks who expect us to be miserable this year. What I hate though is the way VN regulars and coach-worshippers will spin it as "Well no one expected us to win more than 4 games, so Butch must be doing something right if he wins 4 or 5." It's obvious that those who are making predictions about how bad our record could be are taking our coaching into account. After the way we actually seemed to get worse over the course of last year and how inept we looked at times, not simply from a talent standpoint, but from a game plan, scheme, and playcalling standpoint as well, I can hardly blame them.

That said, I hope we see the beginnings of great things from both players and staff this year. I think there is a chance we do. I have no idea about where we finish up this season, but I am certain we will know alot about our coaches by the end of it. It is kind of scary not knowing which way that will go.

7 wins, hands down... 8 including bowl. But then again I wear orange shades. Or could it be I love my university where I received me degree and pay my yearly allowance to!Tisk, guess I'm just another know nothing.

This is a difficult year to predict how many wins, especially which games are wins in the SEC. There are many unknowns with our young, but talented team along with many unknowns throughout the SEC. I predict 7 wins + bowl game win, but which 4 SEC teams we beat is wide open. Can't wait to see what happens! Go VOLS!

Butch should have each player write down their predictions on a sheet of paper. The ones that put 15 down should be our captains.

I'm starting to be a little more pessimistic as it sinks in just how many freshman will be depended on. Not situationally, but consistently.

I still think the Vols go bowling, but anything beyond that will be difficult without improved qb play.

I'm getting pessimistic just because of QB play. We aren't beating Georgia, Florida, or Mizzou without a banner day from our passing game and it doesn't look like we'll get that.

5 is what our last coach could, and did, do. I'm thinking that our current staff is better than that.

Five is all they won last season, until this staff has at least 75 percent of their players on the roster, it is very difficult to evaluate them fully.
