Bearden RB Devrin Young Commits to Tennessee!

When he returns a kick for a TD, next year I'm going to get my popcorn ready for the board discussion:popcorn:

Other than showing the recruit is weakminded and doesn't like a challenge, what would that accomplish?

I mean if you were a 17-18 year old kid, and you decided to commit to a school, and you have fans that don't want you there, why would you want to stay there. If fans don't want you to play for their team, go to another team and try and beat their team.

Why in the world would a recruit give a damn what fans think? You'd be surprised how truly little they care.

Wow are you serious, I would think they would want to go to a place they feel at least welcomed at. JMO
Having been around the recruiting process of plenty of big time prospects on the basketball side of things, fans rate somewhere between the quality of the University Center food court and the number of plies in the dorm room toilet paper in a player's decision.

Thanks for the insight Hat. Personally I always figured they would care about the fans, and what they think, guess i'm wrong about that.

It's obvious from this thread that there are a lot of VOL fans who are excited about the kid. I think if you look at any fan base there are always going to be people excited about you and ones who are skeptical about you. Just curious, what are his alternatives? Is anyone else going after this kid?

Key words..... Basketball players and football are different.

I'm not really sure, I know Stanford was looking him, but other than that i'm not for sure.

They care that the fans show up, because they don't want to play in front of a half empty house. Outside of that, not much. Don't get me wrong, it's not that they dislike the fans. They simply aren't concerned with what Bubba Corndog up in XX8 thinks of their skills.

The kid is fast and gets through the hole quick. IF there is a hole on kick returns he will hit it, give him a summer or 2 in the S&C program he will be fine. excited that he's a vol.

I lived in the Alpharetta area for 12 years, there's some good ball around there too. Camden is legit this year. GAC, Valdosta, and Parkview are always good too.

I was following you till you mentioned GAC, then I lost interest..I would take any player from Tucker before GAC
