In other words, you've got nothing.

What? I didn't think that required a response but ok...

How are you going to call our QB bad... When we HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THEM PLAY!

As for the other points. I don't really know if we will struggle on defense or not. Aside from the fact that Sal had them in poor position every single play, what do we really know? They are a little slow? With good scheme we can adjust for that, even against Oregon.

I'm not saying we will win, but blatent, Nancy statements like "Our bad QB" should not require a response.

People keep saying we have to fly 2500 miles to Oregon but continue to leave out the part where Oregon flies 2500 miles to Virginia the week before playing us. Just thought I'd add that...that's all

It's still our worst home loss in team history, and it was by a team that had traveled 2500 miles the day before the game.

I can't argue with that, but I can tell you that the 2009 UT team and the 2013 UT team are totally different animals from the ground up.

EDIT: I have no idea why my fingers typed 2009, the game was played in 2010 but beyond that the statement still stands.

This right here tells me why you see a 25pt spread - everyone knows what the Ducks have and plan on doing. no one expects the Vols to be worth a crap - that earns you a 25 pt spread.

I fully expect to give them a game, I just don't expect us to pull it out.

here's to UT117 proving me wrong - :hi:

For those that were at the Oregon game, we had all of the momentum until the insane rain storm washed us out and we had to stop playing. When we came back out, the momentum was gone and the ducks pulled away. I belive if that storm hadn't happened, we would have at least kept it a lot closer than it ended up being.

they probably lost any momentum they had (if they really had any to heavy momentum to begin with...not sure I'd call 2 FGs that) when Oregon marched 60 or so down the field in less than a minute to tie the game right before half.

Then Lamichael James's 70 yard run the second drive of the second half just broke their backs.

What does that really effect though? They're home for about full week after that.

It'd be one thing if they had to travel again all the way to Knoxville the week after playing UVA, but they don't.

I've seen Worley play. He's probably serviceable but not the type that's going to win games on his own. They'll all need to lean hard on a running game that may or may not be there.

As for the defense, scheme only goes so far. I think the switch back to 4-3 will stabilize things, but you can't fix slow in one year.

I think the only way any of that matters is if kickoff is noon on the east coast or 8:00 on the west coast where internal body clocks can be a problem. Otherwise, it's just an extra couple of hours on a plane.

That'd be 9AM on the west coast. And, if we're still talking about the UVA game, it won't matter as far as the next weekend because they'll have a whole week at home before UT plays them and won't have to travel for that game.

If we're talking about the UT game's time here, it's already set for 3:30 pm EST, or 12:30 pm Pacific

Remember we held our own in Knoxville for the first half. I'd say out of 100 games at Oregon, we might win about 5 of them. Wouldn't it be spectacular if we pull the upset?

God, how many times have I said something similar to this in the past 3 years. We've been in so many of our games. Just couldn't finish for crap!

Oregon has the team speed and scoring ability to cover the spread. They also have greater continuity with their coaching change, can't imagine them being much different. They are used to winning, Tennessee is used to losing. Depth in the Tennessee defense is questionable, and that spells trouble Oregon's hurry up offence. Finally, they are playing in their home stadium.

I have no idea how close the game will be, but Oregon is fully capable of beating us by 25+.

Yes.

Just because we have a steel wall to protect our bad quarterback doesn't mean we can (1) stop them from scoring, and (2) score enough to keep up with them.
That's why we're a 25pt dog.

which QB might u be referring to?

Out of our 5 top 10 teams we play this year Oregon and USC are the two I think we could beat. People keep saying we are out matched but Oregon lost a lot this year between players and coaches. They are being coached by a first time head coach where as we have a first year head coach with a winning past. We actually match up well with them so I have no clue why people think a 25 point loss will happen. I think the main factor in this game is the distance we have to travel. I hope we upset them but I would be very happy with a three point loss, which I think is the more likely outcome.

Really tired of this comparison.

Stanford is an amazingly coached team under Shaw. They had a better D and a better RB, and really just a much better team.

Stanford plays it close with the majority of the teams they go up against.
