Double Bastard fans will recognize the red/gray version as a 2008. My favorite year for it.

Good choices. Not a big fan of the Bruery one. Obviously Russian River is A+. Like the imperial biscotti, although a little too desserty for me...just a bit.

Smoking Wood was the first smoked beer that I've fully enjoyed but it's definitely a pairing beer. Would have been excellent with a good and fatty ribeye.

I don't eat beef, so can't do that ;) I've never been fully blown away with any Bruery I've tried, but I know they are well thought of!

BTW...excellent glasses!

Black Abby is a new brewery opening in nashville. They've been very slow in opening (probably 2-3 years), getting financing and doing a lot of tastings. They are a group of local home brewers taking the leap. Good beer. Should be open soon.

Thanks VNT. Pretty awesome home brewers doing that. That's the ultimate dream for a homebrew guy. Hope they get it going.

Yeah, what he said. I've had their stuff at a couple of beer fests and they've always been my favorite of the show. I have very high hopes for them. Hope I don't jinx them.

Never had either. We are having a big tasting at Cool Springs Brewery this Sunday. Doing a Goose Island BCBS vertical from normal 06-12 BCBS to Coffee, Vanilla, Rare, Bramble, and maybe the cherry. Looking forward to it.
