Beer (and beer pics!)

I didn't think so either, but picked up a single in a WTH moment. It really surprised me. Not a real strong Chocolate taste, more of just a hint of it and really smooth. I've now had quite a few over the last week or so, and am still impressed.

Wonder if it's anything like this one

Chocolate is delicious in beer....

Agreed, many of the stouts that I enjoy have chocolate in them. As a matter of fact I just had a chocolate peanut butter stout (Count Pnut - green room brewery) in Jacksonville last weekend that was enjoyable but maybe a little too nut flavored if anything.

New guy. Knows beer. Post more.

Chocolate in stout beers just gives a smoother aftertaste, imo. It really just noted more than tasted.

Many stouts taste chocolaty without chocolate being added. That smooth velvety mouth feel comes from mashing at slightly higher temperatures. And the Chocolate taste comes from the yeast during fermentation.

I tried a local here in Memphis last week, and it had more of a mocha flavor. Not a fan because I don't drink anything with coffee in it. Because my birthday is later in the week, I picked up Shiner's Birthday Beer to see how it is.

Any Gueze fans? Tried one on NYE and it's something I could get into.

Tasted like a really tart apple with some funk at the end.

I'm a huge Saison fan.

Boon's Gueze Lambic wasn't bad. I enjoy Lindeman's Framboise and Kriek for a change of pace on occasion as well.

Try Lindeman's. The Gueze Lambic is the base. The Framboise and Kriek add raspberries and cherries respectively to that base. Sweeter and more tart, but still has that "bite" to it.

I have a few bottles of Cantillion laying around. Look for good American Wild Ales. You may be surprised. I have tons of Crooked Stave laying around.
