Beer (and beer pics!)

I thought when they pulled out the stops for migration week here that we would get all variants except proprietors. Then boom...hardly anything. Although my local place, red dog in franklin (my choice for best bottle shop), still has some BCBS for fills. But who can drink a growler of bcbs

Unfortunately we didn't get the vanilla or coffee BCBS this year. So much for GI expanding BCBS production...got about a third of what we got last year

Red Dog Wine & Spirits in Franklin has BCBS on tap now. The Bottle Shop at McEwen will have it on tap in the morning. 32 oz growler limit.

The Sierra Nevada- New Glarus Beer Camp Collaboration was pretty good. I've not seen a beer by just them to try.

New Glarus is amazing, and regarded as the best craft brewery in WI, but they're overrated, IMO. I could spend a month in WI just traveling from brewery to brewery.

I need to make a trip to Chicago soon. I have a hankering for beers from Half Acre and Revolution.

I love me some new Glarus, especially the fruit sours. There scream iipa and moon man pale (?) are great also.

I've done some in person trades, but don't get involved in the trading thru the mail. Seems like a lot of work and some risk. Order from male (rare beer club) some.

for those that like heavy stouts, swing by Blackhorse in Clarksville and/or Knoxville

They did a tribute beer to Task Force 160 (look 'em up they flew Somali and the Bin Laden Raid)

I think it's like a 10.6 or 11 gravity, so it's heavy

One of the little birds pilots from Somalia helped design the bottle

Part of the proceeds goes to the Task Force Charity

Went around Franklin and grabbed a few different things for New Years:

New Belgium La Terroir
Sam Smith Strawberry
Einstok White Ale
Stone Ruination
Oskar Blue's Deviant Dale's
Stiegl Radler
Terrapin So Fresh and So Green Green

2013 Bourbon County Barley Wine on tap. Tried a sample and I didn't really care for it much. Apparently I missed the 2013 Bourbon County Stout by 15 minutes...

Found a new one to me this week. It is really something different and I am digging it. Shock Top Shocolate wheat.

Chocolate is not something I think I want in my beer

I didn't think so either, but picked up a single in a WTH moment. It really surprised me. Not a real strong Chocolate taste, more of just a hint of it and really smooth. I've now had quite a few over the last week or so, and am still impressed.
