Beer (and beer pics!)

Gonna be headed to Destin Saturday for a graduation trip, I was thinking about swinging through a brewery on my way down. Any recommendations? We will probably take 65 down for the majority of the way. Breweries or good bottle shops.

Any worth checking out around Destin would be good too.

Straight to Ale, Huntsville
Blue Pants Brewery, Huntsville

And now for my third post in a row because using the edit function is hard...

Anyone ever had The Public from DC Brau? Only available in DC, Virginia, and Maryland.

Go to Wish You Were Beer in Madison. Not directly off of i-65, but closer than Huntsville and should have all the beers that you could pick up in Huntsville

After having it again, I don't know what to make of it.

It's good but it could be better? It's about the only good thing Shock Top has ever made. The first time I had it while tasting all of their other disgusting beers, I wasn't too high on it but thought it was okay. I had it a 2nd time and I liked it a lot. I had it a 3rd time and thought it was okay again. I don't know if I'm getting different batches or if it was stored differently, maybe it's my mood? I'm not sure what it is. I think it could be called really good, I also think it could be called okay. If you're in the mood for pretzel taste, I'm sure it would be well liked. It's pretty much like drinking pretzels with a creamy taste or texture underlying.

It's unfortunate that you can only buy this in a 24 seasonal(6 being pretzel) pack or on tap. They don't sell it by itself in any form. You might be able to buy single bottles of it out of the package but you'd probably have to pay 2 or 3 dollars a bottle and if I'm the place selling it, I wouldn't do that because everybody would buy the pretzel while the rest of Shock Top's seasonal garbage would go unsold.

And actually, I just looked up other pretzel beers and Shock Top was pretty much the only thing to popup. I guess I'll give Shock Top a lot of credit for this beer as they're one of the only ones(if not they only one) producing pretzel flavored beer. I'd actually recommend it. Though, I wouldn't recommend the 24 pack it comes in. Unfortunate you gotta drop like 25 bucks to try it if you can't find it on tap. Hopefully they'll start producing 6 packs of it. I

If anyone is in franklin, hit red dog. The beer guy for red dog went to Sierra Nevada beer camp and brewed a beer. Grapefruit ipa made withi an experimental hop. Called revenge of the pith and is really good. Won't last

Gonna be headed that way here in a few. Going to stop here most likely and maybe at World of Beer in Birmingham.
