Beer (and beer pics!)

For all of you who like floral and citrus forward IPA, you need to try White Rajah when you can. Made by Brew Kettle. I love this stuff. Has a 96 on BA, with almost 2000 votes.

I have not. Will now try both.

I like the sessions sometimes when I'm having several. Especially if I'm drinking with one of my bud light friends so I'm not taking in double the alcohol, lol.

Everyone's taste is different but IMO the Stone has the boldest hop flavor of any session Ive tried. If your a hop head looking for a good session Go To is a good choice. The Pinner isn't as hoppy and has a bit of a tropical fruit flavor to it. Founders All Day is a good beer but I would put it third behind those two. I just wish Go To was available in cans. I haven't had Left Hand's new session, Introvert yet. I was going to grab some today but they were sold out.

Anyone tried anything by Creature Comforts? Read something about their Athena Paradiso and it sounded quite tasty.

Creature Comforts is very solid. They have a very good ipa whose name I can't put my finger on right now.

As far as session ipas, I have All-Day in the fridge and it's solid. I've had it before and didn't plan on getting any but my local bottle shop (Red Dog in Franklin) had the 15pack for $17.99. Go to and Pinner also really nice as is Terrapin's. Problem with session ipa's is they aren't balance...obviously. They get the super hopped flavor by adding the extra hops, but they lessen the malt bill so they can keep it at a lower abv. So they can come off a little bitter. Still nice to be able to drink 3-4 without feeling like needing a nap. Sometimes I'll break it up with beers that are just normally sessionable beers like maybe a low alcohol pils or something. As far as Brew Kettle's session ipa...I didn't like it, but everyone should try a beer. We all have different tastes. Like I'm over the Southern Tier Chocolate/Pumpking etc dessert beers. Way to sweet for me. But I know a ton of folks really like them.

Pumpking was a little much for me. Pumpkin was a little too strong for me, and I might have gotten diabetes from it.

Fantastic. Let me know what you think. Similar to GF Le Freak.

Stone Points Unknown IPA - Very interesting beer. Not as hoppy as I expected. Taste is Belgian Yeast and oak with a hint of alcohol that gets stronger as it warms up. I really enjoyed this one. May grab a couple more bottles for the cellar.

Picked up a canned growler of Trois Dames / Six Point Jalapenos Raspberry Double. Will report back.

Tropicalia or something like that.

Rust color, minimal head. Lots of jalapeño taste up front, fruity raspberry afterwards and a nice smooth malty character. Not one bit spicy. I wouldn't want it frequently, but a very interesting beer.

I didn't think Pinner had a whole lot of flavor, but it wasn't bad. I thought the name was interesting, coming from a Colorado brewery.

I need to try the Stone, but I do like All Day.

How do you guys handle situations when you are having couples over to the house and the guy drinks crappy light beer. I don't want to drink that ****, but seems prickish not to buy it and drink with him.
