how do you guys handle situations when you are having couples over to the house and the guy drinks crappy light beer. I don't want to drink that ****, but seems prickish not to buy it and drink with him.

BYOB, duh.

Alternativly, get better friends.

Buy some of the light stuff for him, and you drink the good stuff. That way, you are a good host but drink what you want. Maybe you can convince him to try yours and he gives it a chance. I always try to have a variety when people come over. Just my thoughts.

Anyone tried the sriracha stout?

It was too much for me. Tried it and it was ok at first but the more I drank the more the sriracha took over and it got to be overpowering towards the end of a glass.


I had my plate party at the saucer earlier. I didn't get my plate put up tho. The manager called me about an hour before my party to tell my that what I wrote down to put on my plate was inappropriate and wouldn't be hung in her restaurant. "I have a knife and a penis, and one of them is going inside you" is apparently not acceptable

I'll be stocking up on the Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin to take home.

Love just about all of Ballast Point beers. Chocolate Porter is my favorite.

Although they're all just German lagers, I love Mexican beer. I tried Pacifico tonight, it was really good.

But Dos Equis Amber is still my favorite.

Pacifico is my go to if I'm at a Mexican Restaurant.

And yes, I'm very glad to have split a bomber of the sriracha stout. I was over it by the end of my glass.

My thoughts exactly. I really only like Mexican beer when I'm hot and thirsty, or it's the best option wherever I am eating. Or it's free.

Dos Equis is good, and I also like Modelo, both light and dark.

My friend was at the same restaurant as the dos equis guy and he tried to send him a Tecate and the waiter wouldn't do it, LOL.

I hear you. I usually only drink them with Mexican or in the summer.

Almost got the Stone/Wicked Weed Points Unknown but I ended up with these babies. Delicious seasonal offering by West Sixth, just released in Lexington. And since I'm staying in Lexington tonight, thought I'd grab some. Just as good from the tap before they decided to up the production.

Had some Founder's KBS today at a beer/whiskey/ restaurant that had its grand opening this afternoon. They've been sitting on the keg since March, waiting for their opening. It was good. I feel bad that I didn't like it more.
