Beer (and beer pics!)

Right now drinking Tin Roof Parade Ground coffee porter. Anyone tasting this would throw rocks at Guinness. Only thing might be better would be Founders Breakfast Stout, with Sierra Nevada Stout, Founders porter and Gnarly Barley Korova milk porter not too far behind.

:good!:

I worked at Tin Roof for a few years... just in the taproom though, not on the brewing side. I still need to try the updated Parade Ground.

I spent last week in Cincinnati.

I thoroughly enjoyed Urban Artifact. Really great little brewery doing amazing things with tart farmhouse ales. Brought home several variants of their Milkman, a maple breakfast stout; Glimmer, a tart IPA; and Owler, a tart vanilla Porter. I also enjoyed some Sliderule, a raspberry chocolate gose from them but didn't bring any home. It's a must go if you like tart ales and are in Cincy. They also distribute to Ohio and Kentucky.

We also visited Rhinegeist, Madtree, and 50 West. Really liked what I got at both Madtree and Rhinegeist, but was not impressed with 50 West.

Lastly, I wanted to go to Listerman but didn't make it. However, I did pick up a Barleywine collaboration they did with Party Source and it was phenomenal.

There's absolutely no food in my fridge, just beer.

Belching Beaver Hop Highway IPA, rather meh. I am a fan of this brewery, but I would expect a hoppier beer given the name.

I hit a few breweries in Carlsbad in North San Diego County last weekend and they were all pretty solid and cool spots. Burgeon, Rouleur and Booze Brothers. Also went to Culture, one of my usual stops in Solana Beach.

Lazy Bird Brown Ale. only sold in pint cans, and they've been a perfect pour............ every. single. time.

great beer.

Does anyone ever bring beer back from trips? Going to Colorado and want to bring some cans back. What’s the best way to store them in luggage and keep them cold?

You don’t really need to worry about temperature control.

As long as they don’t get hot it’s fine. Beer goes from cool to room temperature and back on their way from the brewery to a retail location, so it’s fine for them to do the same once you have bought it.

Wanting to try something local while I was in the Atlanta area I had Three Taverns A Night on Ponce IPA a couple of nights ago. I was hoping for a Creature Comforts, but they were out. The Three Taverns was drinkable though.

Anyone familiar with the New Orleans beer scene? Obviously, I know about Abita but don't know much else. Will be here for the weekend.

I’ve had several beers from NOLA brewing and they were all pretty good from what I remember

Tried Hopitoulas IPA from Nola. Pretty darn good. Went to Urban South. The one beer I had was ok, but it was a popular place. Watched the Grizz play the Pelicans.

A buddy of mine picked me up a 6 pack of Boiler Gold made by the People's Brewing Company here in Indiana. Purdue licensed beer. I have some cans opened from the bottom if there are any collectors here....
