Before you hate on golden...LOOK!!!

It was a great decision. At the game, you could hear cheers when it happened.

i read somewhere i think it was griff's twitter but i could be wrong, that CCM said the reasoning for the move was solely defensive purposes, infact if im not mistake maymon replaced golden so it clearly was for defense. this would insinuate that it had nothing to do with goldens late game troubles, but then again who knows. i dont see him pulling out golden if that is a tied ball game. Oh hey there Trae. Don't take it personal, but you have Scotty Hopson-esque consistency.

played atleast 25 minutes in 18 of 19 games
scored in double digits 15 of 19 games
has 3 or more assists in 16 of 19 games

how is this not consistent?

Coach Martin understands Golden's tendencies to "mess up" at the crucial moments in a game....so for UConn, Golden rode the pine for the last 1 min or so. Very smart move!

Might've been more him having an off game and wanting to get McBee on the floor. Golden is usually a dead-eye in late game free throws, but something was wrong yesterday.

it could have been the ankle that he has been favoriing the last week or so. in any regard, i wouldnt expect to see mcbee replacing golden in late game situations if we are behind or in a tied ball game.

Right. "For his FT ability" was implicit in "wanted to get McBee on the floor."

He does some stupid stuff, but overall he is good and definitely our best chance of winning. Cam makes too many bone head plays and Wes is not ready yet imo

That is why I say he has an Arian Foster type feel to him. He messes up in crucial times so that is what the casual fan remembers.

Golden didn't ride the pine, he was on the court the last minute. He just wasn't the primary FT shooter for once in a late game scenario. Skylar was this time. You don't pull someone shooting 83% from the stripe in a late game scenario.

he was taking out for the final 19 seconds. he was out for the drive by napier that he missed the ft, kenny goes to the line and shoots ft, napier came down hit a 3, tatum fouled on the inbounds, uconn misses final shot. golden was out for this entire stretch.

I don't know how I missed that. He played well defensively, but his confidence in his shot looked dismal yesterday. I hope that gets rectified quickly.

He goes back to his left head lean out of bad habit. When he squares up, he's ok. He needs to keep his head still. He's making the basket a moving target when he leans.

ive noticed that its the oddest thing, he grabs the ball gets almost like a lean going on like he was walking through the mall or something and shoots. very odd.

as bad as his shot was i thought it was one of his better games, he played the position very well. good sign too was his shot wasnt falling and he realized it so he didnt push it.

Some of our sets were executed to perfection and we looked like a Keady coached team at times. CCM's brand of ball is going to make us a tough out when are shots aren't falling and an even tougher out when they are!

Actually I was. Section 318 cheered:loco: Nice try though.

If you think fans were cheering because Golden was taken out of the game, you are :loco: However, I will give you a reprieve because it's hard to hear in sect. 318...

They were cheering for his play, not because he was taken out!

Hard to hear what, the cheers when you are sitting in the middle. I have sat all over the arena, and the atmosphere is a lot better in the upper section.

this is why im hoping and praying that this team somewhoe sneaks their way into the ncaa tournament because that could be very fun. also, itd be nice just for our team to have the experience of going there, it would set us up nicely for a deep run next year.
