Being on CBS again positive or negative?

We may get beat Saturday but national exposure wearing our new smokey gray uniforms is going to be sweet. Recruits are going to eat that #$%^ up.

So is it good or bad we are on CBS considering the terrible product that is being put out? Rating prove many more viewers watch the 330 CBS game then for instance a 745 ESPN2 game. Thoughts?

Specifically talking about recruiting or just overall perceptions, like have the terrible records against ranked teams repeated over and over again etc etc.

Terrible product? You are trying too hard. Stupid comment. Some people start a thread just to start a thread.

Memphis had a hell of a lot better defense than we have. I'm tired of the be. This defense is terrible, its not because we are in the SEC, it would be bad if we were in the sun belt. There are multiple FCS teams that we would have major trouble stopping.

From an article on the main page today:
In 2013, the Vols are averaging 9.6 points per game off of turnovers, the best rate in the SEC and 10th best nationally.

In the SEC, Tennessee's defense is ranked:

4th in Redzone Defense
Tied for 8th with LSU in Sacks
4th in Turnover Margin
3rd in Pass Def Efficiency

The problem is, we are facing Aaron Murray... He has some really nice stats.

2nd overall in Total Offense
1st in Pass Efficiency
1st in Pass Avg/Game

I'm not saying that Georgia will be stopped the whole game, but like other posters have said, Richt is synonymous for blowing games that he should win easily. Especially after a big game. They think we are push overs.

If we can move the ball a little on offense and get some turnovers, like we've been prone to do this year, we could keep it close.

That being said, I won't be partying with any of my Georgia friends... lol

GBO!

it's a better defense than the year before because it couldn't be any worse.

i could post a whole bunch of stats if you exclude the game played against austin peay (not only an fcs team, but a terrible fcs team) and the numbers from last year to this year are not that far off.

the difference has been turnovers and if we are being honest, turnovers are things that you are just blessed to get and are not necessarily forced. the florida-tennessee game is a great example. there were 10 total turnovers in that game and the majority were due to bonehead offense and not great defensive play.

Both. Negative that we are going to get curb stomped, especially in our shiny new special uniforms. Positive that at least we are on a major channel occasionally.

Everybody wear bright orange Neyland needs to be brighter than it has in years!!! And we need at least 103000 fans so it'll be packed!!!

Murray will look like a Heisman favorite as we tend to do as a defense for our opponent's quarterback's.

Oregon will get mentioned.

CBJ's recruiting will be talked about and not his vanilla playcalling.

Lane Kiffin will be in the convo by second quarter.

Just be competitive. Don't get humiliated. If the Vols can avoid being embarrassed, it's a huge upside. Being with in striking distance in the 2nd half, regardless of what happens, is a win for the program.

Moral victories don't count as victories, but there are a lot of recruits watching who will feel a lot different about a rising program losing a tough game to a great team like UGA, vs. a team that gets embarrassed like against Oregon.

Can only hope and pray it's close, and be grateful that we get another shot on national TV. Things don't improve in Knoxville, and eventually Saturday 3:30 games and 7:45 (or whatever time it is now) ESPN games will be as rare as a big win under Dooley.

As long as Verne doesn't mention Tebow or Gary blame everything on Ainge again I will be fine with it

Gary and Verne can go F themselves. That's all i got on this topic.

The only negative is having to listen to Verne for 3.5 hours.

No kidding. I think his laugh is the most annoying thing about him. Honestly, I can't tell if he: 1) really thinks something is funny; 2) he's trying to make Gary feel better if a wry comment comes out stupid; 3) his lunch and his tonsils are doing the tango.

As a Dish Network customer it's definitely not good....They're in a dispute with the CBS parent company right now, so no CBS for me.

First time poster, long time lurker (oh hey guys look we have one that likes to watch...haha j/k). Like you, I have Dish in the Tri-Cities and am a bit irritated that this had to happen this weekend (new uni's). I was looking into it today and it appears that CBS will be streaming the game live online. Now whether they'll black it out for this area I don't know as I've not tried to watch any of their streaming games previously. I am still debating with myself over whether to chance it or go somewhere and watch it.

I wish I could go to it but that just isn't an option at the present time. Anyway.....Go Vols!

I'd say negative. Especially since we're going to have to listen to Gary and Verne go on and on about how great Georgia is. Oh they'll point out how open the middle of the field is about 20 times also..

Yeah, I can hear Gary saying over and over, " The middle has been open allllllll day. Johnson just can't cover it. When does Tennessee adjust and stop this?"

Well he did have a point. We stayed in that base defense and made USA look like a good offense. Pitch and catch isn't hard to stop. We weren't making them work for anything. If we line up like that, and play that far off UGA, it will be over by halftime.

It has to be positive. Even if we don't win, recruits will see that they will have a shot at playing time when they sign on the dotted line. Maybe they will feel they CAN make a difference. I hope we make a good game of it. Go Orange.

I don't know if it is a positive or a negative, but I wish they would change the music associated with the show. It reminds me of losing.
