Bench Maymon

Without Maymon, UT wouldn't have had the game come down to the last seconds. They would've lost by more. Yes, a Sr should be making at least 1 of 2 FT's. However, Martin should've done something earlier in the half instead of doing nothing. UT held them to 18 points in the 1st half. They got 39 in the 2nd half. Yet again, an opposing coach makes adjustments at the half and Martin cannot adjust during the game. Par for the course.

A "leader" steps up and makes his FT's at crunch time, Alabama, Chris Lofton. Maymon may be a vocal leader but that's about it. Way too many turnovers and if you include the shots he gets blocked he would be averaging about 5 turnovers a game.

Remember when Chris Lofton missed multiple free throws down the stretch in Columbus to cost Tennessee a game to Ohio State a few years ago? I guess he gets an exemption.

You're right. I'm sure Reese and Davis' thin frames will hold up for 30 minutes a night against decent competition. Even better, maybe Pops should get the bulk of the workload.

This has to be one of the most foolish knee-jerk reactionary posts I have ever seen. This guy is not only a floor leader, but one of the glue guys for this team. Everybody screws up now and then. This is kinda like poking your eye out because you don't like what you are looking at...

Tooooo much of a liability out there. Missed gimmies... turnovers... missed free throws.

Thanks for your service. Time for AJ Davis to get those minutes.

He'll still be a big part of our rotation... we'll need him to sub for davis and stokes.

Wow. Total fail.

First sentence is a doozy to decipher, but if you're suggesting that leaders don't miss FTs, and Chris Lofton is a leader, then you'll remember Lofton missing the front end of a one-and-one vs Ohio St in the waning seconds of the regular season matchup in 2006-07 that led to us losing that game.

I'd be careful making such definitive statements.

Don't think He was a Senior that year was he?

Not sure where your diatribe came from since I mentioned nothing about Reese or Davis. Also, looks to me like you're a Duke fan, not a UT fan

He was a junior. Is there some great diconnect between being a senior and a junior as it relates to leadership? Do they not teach leadership skills until senior year? If so, I stand corrected.

Yeah bro, bench one of our best players. You didn't think this through before posting this thread?

Then so is every missed shot that's rebounded by the defense.

No, because the defender does not touch or effect the trajectory of the ball.

A deflected pass that goes into the defenders hands is a steal, a turnover.

A blocked shot that leads to the defense getting the ball is still a turnover.

Uhh, AJ's got some work to do before he'll be Maymon. He's only a FR some I'm definitely not knocking the kid, but there's no way you sit Maymon unless you have Kentucky's bench.

There isn't a single coach in any level higher than church league who would ever consider pulling maymon in favor of what we have on our bench

Coulda used those 2, heck just 1, of those free throws he bricked at the end...

since you're full of stats... how many turnovers did Maymon have? Atleast 4. Plus he played 35 plus minutes and a&m was laying bricks the first half... someone had to grab those bricks. One postive stat doesn't overcome the other shortcomings of his game.

bench'em.

He had 6 I think

You're an idiot...he should of been benched on pure. Principal. He wasnt the only player killing us tonight, but as usual he does nothing on offense when ya need him. I'd rather of had Armani Moore and Barton out there, at least Barton created offense tonight. As much **** as he gets on here, he played well enough to be out there when we needed a push on offense. Maymon sabotaged us on offense. He lubed it up and bent his team over..****ed them royally

Agreed but they certainly should have considered at some point during the game tonight.
