If you put a gun to my head I'd say Stevie Wonder. I always enjoyed Smokey Robinson but his name won't come up much in discussions like this.

Country: Vince Gill....didn't say I liked him but the guy can sing anything.

Sometimes people are very hesitant to include recent artists in the "best ever" discussion. However, I agree. Groban is legit.

Aretha Franklin was my number one pick, but I waited to see what everyone else said in case there was anyone I forgot about. So far, I think my vote is still for Aretha.

For vocals, Alan Jackson is my favorite in country music.

Good call on Aretha, she is certainly in my top 5. Another guy I rank highly is Steve Perry. I just dig his vocals.

Forgot to mention Brennan Huff. His rendition of "Por ti volaré" was one of the greatest performances in modern American musical history.

My favorite would be Lauryn Hill. Like Sister Act Lauryn was incredible. She is still good just a shell of her former self though
