1. UCLA in Alcindor's (Jabbar) Jr and Sr years
2. UCLA in Walton's Soph and Jr years
3. 1976 Indiana National Championship (lost 1 game in 2 years)
4. 1973 NC State (David Thompson) National Championship team

I'd flip the first two, but otherwise I'm with you.

UNLV losing to Duke and Mike Tyson losing to Buster Douglas were the two biggest "I can't believe that just happened" moments from my teen years. I didn't think anyone could beat either one.

None of them could play within 10 points of Jabbar senior season, they would have beat last year kentucky team by 20 points, when he was a freshman at UCLA the freshmen team beat the UCLA National Champion team by 20 in a scrimmage. In those days freshman could not play.

That I saw in person? Probably the '56 San Fransico team. Those boys really knew how to pass it!

I would say the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers

Scott May
Quinn Buckner
Kent Bensen
Bobby Wilkerson
Tom Abernathy

they were undefeated @ 32-0 & had lost 1 game the year before.....this team had it all, they had scorers, guys that could rebound & block shots, guys that could play D & they had the General Bob Knight leading the way!

The 01-02 Maryland team with Dixon, Blake and Baxter was very good. They crushed everyone they played in the tournament that included the likes of Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas and Uconn.

00-01 Duke team was absolutely loaded as well.

I think you should have to win the title to be in best ever discussions.

The best team to not win was the Oklahoma Sooners in the late 80's. Lost to Danny Manning and KU in the CG,

That team was intimidating. I think they swept KU and MU during the season. Too far to remember correctly.

2008-2009 UNC was pretty great. Lawson, Hansbrough, Danny Green, and Wayne Ellington. Their closest game in the tournament was 12 pts. and they beat Michigan State by 17 to win it all.

This team. Ed Davis off the bench

Just to add, Kentucky '96 had 9 players that played in the NBA.

Sagarin ranks them higher than Indiana '76, UNLV '91, and UNC '93.

91 UNLV vs 96 Kentucky is a game I want to see played. Edge to UK. Augmon against Walker would have been special. Man I feel old just thinking about this.

I mean Wooden did not win 7 in a row for nothing. I imagine one of the UCLA teams was the best. The 09 UNC team was very good so really I do not know.

Not the best by any means but my favorite was the Keith lee, Baskerville, Andre turner, William Bedford, doom Haynes, bobby parks, Dwayne Bailey...Memphis state team. That's the most fun I have had as a basketball fan. I enjoyed the pearl run, but I was a teenager playing hs ball in Memphis during that run and it was fun to be around. Old coliseum was very rowdy.

I always loved watching Memphis play until I came to UT and learned to hate them
