best college team you've ever seen

The UNLV teams had some weaknesses that could be exploited as Duke did the following year in the Final Four when they beat the same UNLV team.

They were not a great outside shooting team, they didn't have a dominant post player, they were not great in the half court game. However, they did have great pressure defense and if you couldn't handle that, you were going to be blown out, because it didn't let up.

The very next year, the almost identical Duke and UNLV teams met in the Final Four and Duke controlled the pace of the game and beat the Running Rebels. I think the UCLA teams of the 70s and the 75-76 Indiana teams could have done that also.

UNLV was up 74-71 with a little under 4 minutes to go, when Greg Anthony fouled out. Part of basketball I know, but I think with Anthony they win.

Duke did add Grant Hill so not almost an identical Duke team. Plus that was one bad game, in a season of complete dominance.

i'm going with unlv runnin rebels..they had stacy augman, larry johnson and greg anthony. this is still to this day the best i've ever seen

Agreed, exactly the team that came to mind. That team was fun to watch. I will never forget the unlv/loyola-marymount tournament game. Still one of the most entertaining games I can remember.

The Georgetown teams from 84 and 85 were very good. I know Nova beat them in 85 and to you younger guys you should watch that game. The last game before the shot clock.

This team lost one game in two years. I think it was the 1975 Mideast Regionals and Scott May (best player) was out with a broken arm.

I think they are the last team to finish a season with a perfect record.

May played with a cast. It was at Dayton, Kentucky won 92-90. Probably Joe Hall's biggest win other than the NC game in '78.

phi slamma jamma

i'll say the 82 north carolina team with james worthy and michael jordon.

My dad went to NC state, and we lived in Houston for the 83 Phi Slamma Jamma NC game. He said he couldn't find anyone to talk trash to, because nobody there cared about Houston bball.
