Why don't you expand on your comment then?

This will be good.
to what end? You threw him out there and I told you why he hasn't been mentioned yet. You, the NC homer are the only person to toss out his name. Everyone else deemed him unworthy of mention. Why does there need to be any more said?

Roy is Dean Jr. How is that a hard concept to understand? It's not a terrible thing, it just means he is a choker.

I just wanted to hear a little more substance to back up your assertion, that's all. If you feel that you don't have the facts to provide that, I'm fine with that.

fwiw, I commented that I was surprised I didn't see his name *more* often in this thread. If you go back and re-read it, you'll see he was mentioned several times.

how many more facts do you need? He's consistently underachieved at both KU and even UNC. That's why he's not there. Championships trump everything else.

IF Championships trump everything else (as you say), would you say that Billy Donovan is a better coach than Tom Izzo? What about Bill Self?

Let's say Jim Calhoun wins his third title this weekend, would you say that he is equally as good as Mike Krzyzewski?

I wouldn't.

I'd have no problem saying Calhoun is equally as good as K if he won.

Really. He has a 100% winning percentage in the Final Four. Pretty impressive I'd say.

I agree. Calhoun has an awesome FF win percentage, but he's only been to three. K has been to 10. Surely, there's something to be said for getting your team in a position to win year in and year out.

Roy Williams has 2 NCAA titles and 5 final fours in 8 years. Last time college basketball saw a run like that was Mike Krzyzewski.....15 years ago.

NCAA Tournament record of notable coaches over the past ten years-

Roy Williams 33-8
Tom Izzo 25-9
Bill Self 23-9
Mike Krzyzewski 23-9
Billy Donovan 20-6
Jim Calhoun 20-7
Ben Howland 18-7
Gary Williams 16-6
Lute Olson 15-8
John Calapari 14-6
Tubby Smith 14-9
Jim Boeheim 13-6
Rick Pitino 12-6
Mark Few 11-10

Roy Williams and Tom Izzo have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. Bill Self and K are not far behind (well, they're sort of far behind, but that could change next decade).

What's the over/under on how many times Coach K's name is misspelled in this thread?

Roy Williams is the greatest coach right now. Just to throw some stats at u. 5 of the last 8 years he has been to the final four winning 2 national championships. He has taken 2 teams to the final four which puts him in a elite group. The best for last he has the highest winning percentage of any coach right now. Saying all that if we were talking about both sides. Nobody & I mean nobody has anything on Pat Summit
