Samsung from Walmart has been my last 2 choices. No more Vizeo for me. Can't beat the price either.

sure. It will depend on which model he likes.

certain TVs are UPP, Universally Price Protected. meaning manufactures determine price, can not be discounted. (higher end tvs)

Which Sharp model did you like, there are 3 models that are 70" 240hz & Quattron. Was it the SQ10, SQ15, or SQ17?? I like the SQ15 for the $$

Don't remember. I've seen them a few times on display at Best Buy. Beautiful pictures.

The only problem I see with the Walmart TV's is they tend to be 60Hz. Noticeable difference between 60Hz and 120Hz.

No way.. You would be hard pressed to find a 60" 240hz for $900 let alone a 65".. It was maybe a true motion 240, but actual 120hz.

It doesn't matter where one buy a television, one need to do some research before walking into a store and purchasing one. The point you just made validates doing research.

True but most have a cling stuck to the screen that shows all the specs.

sure they have a tag attached to it, but it was still manufactured for WM. avoid the model #'s that just Walmart/Sams carry. they are a lower quality & cheaper parts internally.

Out of curiosity, do you work for Best Buy?

I'm not a supply chain expert but we've all read the articles on how Walmart pressures suppliers to come in at certain price points. But, a supplier like Samsung isn't going to meet those price points unless they take something out of the model-i.e. put in lower quality parts, etc. It just wouldn't make sense for them not to do that. And, they know its probably for a consumer who is more price conscious and less performance conscious. So, no problem.

You haven't paid close enough attention to the TV model # then. There is a model UN55eh6003. It was made specifically for WM/Sams. internal features were sacrificed, ie hdmi inputs, Optical Outputs & picture quality. Other retailers picked up the model to compete for market share. But Samsung caved & made a crappy tv so WM would sell their product..

I'm one and done with Samsung. LCD with two power supplies replaced under Bestbuy extended warranty (two year). Third one went out after warranty expired. I gave the tv away and will not spend another dime on a Samsung product. Just an opinion, but based on first hand experience.
