Best possible DC available?

I'm not trying to kick a dead horse, but I was at the Ridgeland game tonight in North Georgia and spoke to Lance Thompson who was there recruiting Vonn Bell....he disagreed with the hire and endorsed Kirby Smart and also said we should have offered him the DC job when we had the chance....it had me thinking, who is the best possible candidate out there (realistically)? Would anyone ever consider a guy like Thompson?

CLT is a good coach, the reason he was not offered the DC Job had more to do with personal issues not coaching....and no I will not be the guy to share that info we have all made mistakes his was just covered up really well...

The best staffs work together. Often all-star staffs have conflict especially when one or two become primary donnas. Also it seems CBJ is looking at the long-term to keep staff.

I want his foundation coaches here. Majakian is a smart playcaller, and Dave Lawson is an upgrade on the speed front.

I still think we should have offered Ellis Johnson before Auburn did, but i'll trust CBJ and roll with it.

I live in Miami and grew up around Shannon being in Miami. He is a great cover 2 man guy that takes advantage of having better talent than the offense. He's a good coach. but he gets far too much credit for x's and o's for all the talent that was brought in there. for all his linebacker credentials, Miami people often complained that the linebackers were caught thinking too much instead of reacting. And even though he's from Norland High in Miami his credentials at BTW and Miami Northwestern have dwindled quite a bit bc he shunned some recruits and coaches before he left Miami. And had some Northwestern and Booker guys on the bench and in the dog house at Miami that pissed alot of people in the community off, especially the coaches at the schools. Ice Harris for one at Northwestern told Randy to go **** him self so his inroads might not be as strong as you think

I've met Lance Thompson on a few occasions. I don't know him real well, I don't have his phone #. But that just doesn't really strike me as a conversation he would have. Especially with just some random fan.
