BEST possible scenario just happened!!

i honestly think this is the BEST possible thing that could've happened to us going into the NCAA tourney.

the VERY LAST thing this team needs is to go in to the tourney feeling like they "deserve" their 4 seed. going in with a... "we're a bad ass 4 seed who beat KU and UK" is a guaranteed 1st or 2nd round loss.

going in with a BIG chip on their shoulder is EXACTLY what this team needs to play pissed off, focused and with 110% effort. no will can dispute that our team plays best with something to prove.

This isn't that bad of a point, but we also happened to get the least favorable 6 seed matchups imaginable.

We will be extremely lucky to see the Vols make the Sweet 16. IF we beat SDSU, we will get crushed by G'Town.

We've had pretty bad seeds before. It didn't motivate us then. I don't think it will help too much. I think the opposite will happen TBH

Between 4, 5 and 6 seeds, which is all we could have hoped for, this one isn't that bad. Agree SDSU is a tough match-up but we actually match up pretty well against GU and OSU, so long as we're healthy mentally and physically. Agree with the point about being pissed off except I wonder if this team is motivated by being pissed or simply sulks. We've been motivated by being an underdog so, again, the issue is getting past SDSU.

Playing Georgetown in the second round isn't favorable, bad matchup, they have a lot of size.

We were like 28-4 with wins at Memphis, Xavier, and Gonzaga. We got the worst 2 seed with UNC and Louisville. That was trash.

which was b/c they were giving us games closer to home (being in a section where it was easier for our fans to travel rather than having to go out west)

that's unfortunately possibly the confusing part of this, some of these things are regionality awards among other things....not just a straight 1,2,3,4,5 down the list ranking

One could say that Bruce Pearl's not anyone's favorite out there but bottom line is that we need to win some big tournament games. Arguably Pat Summit went thru all this enroute to her favored current status.

Last year we were the second best team in the SEC and got a 9 seed. The team was pissed then and we still lost in the 2nd round.

It was trash, but a 2 seed is a 2 seed...we dropped 2 actual seeds for this tournament...we won the games we were at least supposed to win in this year's tournament...didn't show much against KY but we were supposed to make it to them...

Two years ago, we were supposed to win the SEC tournament...I think this years snub is worse, being that we dropped 2 actual seed spots from where we should have been
