It didn't work this week either - remember all of the complaining about playing on Thursday in the SEC Tourney?????

We didn't show against a very poor LSU team and I have my doubts that we show up against an evenly matched SDSU team. I hope we do.

my bad.... yes it was a #2. which wasn't a snub at all given the way we finished down the stretch... and as proven by the thumping louisville gave us.

i don't like the bracket we're in... but i LOVE the 6 seed. these guys need the extra incentive to prove the powers wrong.

which was b/c they were giving us games closer to home (being in a section where it was easier for our fans to travel rather than having to go out west)

that's unfortunately possibly the confusing part of this, some of these things are regionality awards among other things....not just a straight 1,2,3,4,5 down the list ranking
So what? They gave a team deserving of a one seed the worst bracket as a 2 seed. That was garbage.

I think its BS.....ND got a better 6 seed than us and what have they done all season?!?

Between 4, 5 and 6 seeds, which is all we could have hoped for, this one isn't that bad. Agree SDSU is a tough match-up but we actually match up pretty well against GU and OSU, so long as we're healthy mentally and physically. Agree with the point about being pissed off except I wonder if this team is motivated by being pissed or simply sulks. We've been motivated by being an underdog so, again, the issue is getting past SDSU.

look i totally agree we got a raw deal in our seeding. BUT i think this team will perform better with something to prove rather than feeling good about the "respect" they got.

if we beat SDSU, Georgetown suffer against long athletic teams..
they see us as a big threat.

we shouldnt be scared, they should, were the underdog, and were UT :)

point being though still it's not just a straight down rankings

and as far as 1s and 2s they do get rewarded somewhat with location, and more of our fans are able to travel to (was it east?) than are able to on the west coast :dunno:

dont shoot the messager

G-town is a terrible match-up for us. Have you seen our halfcourt offense? We don't have one. They will slow it down and get good shots on our d and we will be in trouble.

This squad needs to go in thinking they're a big bad-ass 4 seed. If they have the smallest inkling they got/will get screwed, they'll sulk and pout for 40 minutes.

Well guys. We're screwed. Game over. Next year maybe we can play better and not get effed over by the commity. Awful matchup between SDSU and even if we beat them we will get demolished by Gtown. Oh well... Gotta live and die with your team I guess right? Go VOLS!

just like the did before the KU game. and they sure gave up against KY @ home after getting drilled by vandy twice and KY in the course of 2 weeks.

without a doubt, this team plays best with something to prove. they now have something to prove.

I was pretty pissed at first, but in looking at the matchups this really seems to be our best shot at getting to an elite 8 (there is no way we are going to a final 4 in any of the brackets).

I am curious, what 5 or 4 seed would you trade for? Just asking....

In 2009, we were a 9 seed. We lost in first round to Ok. St. 77-75.

In 2008, we were a 2 seed, beat American, beat Butler, then lost to Louisville.

In 2007, we were 5 seed, beat LBS, beat Virginia, lost to Ohio State.

In 2006, we were 2 seed, beat Winthrop, lost to Wichita State.

Georgetown turns the ball over a lot. Thats the biggest knock on them. If we force turnovers we can beat them. Ohio State is not deep and struggles to defend on the inside. Albeit I'm not thrilled with a 6 seed, these are two beatable teams for us.

last years team didn't beat the #1 in the nation days after 4 key players were suspended either.

this team needs a snub to get them motivated. pearl sure can't do it.

Ironic couple of statements. I guess pearl didn't coach against KU or UK rnd 2??
